In regards to the same e liquid flavor from the same manufacturer, does a lower/no nicotine level have a different flavor than a high nicotine level? I recently purchased a 0mg e liquid from a very reputable (and one of my favorite) vendors and noticed the smell/taste is much more muted than the 12mg I had previously. It also has a slightly different flavor. Has anyone shared this experience? I'm curious if indeed the nicotine itself shapes the flavor of e liquids.

Also, I did buy some unflavored nicotine e liquid and noticed it has such a slight smell that I can't imagine it influencing the flavor all that much.

Hi AJ1, I do believe that there are differences in nicotine purity and hence the effect in vaping performance and taste. I have noticed the same ordeal at Vapefest here in Vegas this year... A vendor gave me 0mg and when I actually ordered from them the taste was completely different. You must also take in consideration whole tobacco extract which is a different animal all together. I am no expert but I have been vaping for a little over two years now and there is always something to learn in this ever changing community of ours :)

Nicotine gives you part of the throat hit and the peppery taste or feeling. There is a review on this board that someone did comparing many of the different nicotine solution suppliers and he definitely had issues with certain suppliers. There are also different methods of extracting the nicotine which will create different flavors.

Yeah, it's mostly the peppery taste that people notice the most when trying new juices, especially at a juice bar.

Generally when you're sampling juices, it's 0mg juice so you don't over do the nicotine while trying juices. That's why it's best to buy 1 small bottle of a new juice, even if you've tried it and like it. The peppery undertone can really change how a juice vapes.

Also, yes, the nicotine content can effect the throat hit, but flavor can have just as much of an impact. That's why you can vape one thing at 12mg and get very little throat hit, then another at the same nicotine level and it'll just knock you on your .....
