Hi,

I need a new MOD. I've been using the original recalled Smoktech GROOVE for almost a year and it actually still holds a full day's charge for me. I have the plastic one, so the recall didn't really concern me and I really liked the specs at the time so I just kept it. But the fire button is a real pain to get working, have to push it really hard the right way to get it to work and it sometimes flickers and locks out the MOD etc, all while using the same thumb to simultaneously plug one of the two holes in my rda because I have a dual coil rda but usually only use a single coil and need to block off the extra air. Plus the battery life should basically be nothing in about a month or two so I'm looking for a new MOD.

They made a V2 GROOVE that probably doesn't have the firing button problems like the V1 but I want something that can do more like sub ohms. I

'm hoping to find something that is:
box style
big internal battery like 3K+ mAh
VV
regulated/protected
ohm checker
capable of high watt/sub ohm vaping or at least close to it.

Basically like the gi2 box mod but not $300 and with an internal battery.

I read they're coming out with DNA20 and 30 clones soon if not already so maybe I'll wait until then. The exceptions I can make is using something that has all these specs but isn't a box design or using something that doesn't have an internal battery, but basically the main thing I want is protected VV that can do sub ohms or close to it.

Thanks.

The closest thing I can think of is the Protovapor, or possibly the Innokin iTaste MVP 2.0. That will give you a starting point to start researching them. Some of the data for the MVP implys that it has a 3.5 amp limit...this is not true, the amp limit is around 2.7-3, so the Protovapor may be what you really need to look at.

cost range is about a hundred bucks hopefully with batteries and charger but will spend more if have to but not $300 like the Protovapor.

I'd get a Groove version 2 instead of an MVP V3. The groove is 5 Amp 15 Watts, MVP is only 3 Amp 11 Watts so I can do more low ohm vaping with the groove and they're basically the same price plus the Groove has more mAhs and if the MVP V3 menu is the same as the MVP V2 I'm familiar with, then I think the Groove's more user-friendly.

I guess I'll get a Groove V2 for now until the DNA 20 and 30 clones hit and then keep it as a back up since I don't have a back up. My recalled Groove V1 might hold a charge good enough as a back up when the clones hit but it just irks me to keep a recalled Groove V1 tucked away as back up even though I never had a problem with it.

I was going to get a mechanical mod for sub ohm vaping. I ordered everything but found out like 2 months later the shipping got turned around from fasttech because they can't ship/don't bother to safely package lipo batteries. But now that there are things like the gi2 100Watt regulated box mod with VV and ohm checker etc and at least DNA 20 or 30 clones soon arriving, I'd rather wait for something that can do low-ohm vaping with protection, VV, and ohm checker instead of a mechanical even if I can do lower sub ohm vaping with a mech which I might not even prefer as an all-day vape.

^ thanks. I assume you mean this which has been out about a month https://www.fasttech.com/products/1650201

According to the description, it has VV changeable in .1 increments, but all the youtube vids I saw and descriptions from other sites says it's only VW that can be adjusted. I'm not crazy about the menu and having to click 5X to enter it and then tilt the mod just to raise/lower the power a bit now and then. it's a nice MOD and I like the real-time indicators and I like non-internal batteries so the mod doesn't basically become garbage when an internal battery dies in about a year. But I'll wait a month or so until they make something 20-30W with more buttons and hopefully VV instead of just VW if this really is only VW. I read the up coming 20W chips can be upgraded to 30W via software patch if they're not already 30W which this one can't do.
