I smoked for 26 years. Two packs + a day for the last 20. I gave up the analogs in August last year and haven't missed them a bit. The first couple of days were a little rough. That may be due to the fact that I started off on a $15 throw-away piece of junk and some rancid tasting juice that purported to taste like my favorite brand. I quickly upgraded. Then upgraded again, and again... LOL! I'm definitely a tank junkie. I buy at least one a month. I did wonder for a while if the feds missed the thousands of dollars a year in taxes they are losing to my (and the millions from the combined vaping population's) participation in the digital revolution. Then I look at the crap they are spewing out in the name of science against e-cigs and find my answer. I still have to wonder, though, whether it's the loss of tax dollars or the campaign contributions from big tobacco that influence them more.

The loss of tax money is a big hit to the government, but campaign contributions from big tobacco personally influence the politicians.

You'll notice that #5 is Altria, the world's largest tobacco corporation.

this is an example of why people going up for election should not be receiving contributions from nonhumans.

money talks.
when corporations can put money to fund election campaigns, it's like somebody casting a bigger vote that human persons can cast

Dem's get plenty of tobacco money too, I think singling out one republican as a poster boy is disingenuous at best. I do like the idea of required sponsorship attire though.
I think tax revenue and savings from early death are far more to blame than campaign contributions. Plus, why would anyone believe they would keep a promise to anybody?

Remember ole Al gore crying his crocodile tears over his sisters death while campaigning but never once mentioning the family business and fortune was built on tobacco.

both sides can mess with the facts to make their point and not end up lying...#5 is a tie between two other groups but lets put BT in at the top, sound better for us ;)

Short answer: No, they do not miss YOUR tax dollars.
But, they DO miss ALL of our tax dollars. This is apparent in the ongoing smear campaigns and vaping bans across the country (both U.S. and Canada).
We, as a community, scare the living Christ out of them. Every level of government, BT and BP
The stronger we get, as a collective, the weaker they become.
Get active, my friends. Do NOT hesitate to speak your minds.
Take a page out of my playbook. Next time you're at your local vape shop, grab a handful of their business cards. As you go about your day and come across a smoker, give them a card.
They may throw it away, they may pick their teeth with it.
But, maybe...Just maybe...One will visit that shop and VOILA! You've saved a life and enlisted another member into the vaping army.
Don't do it for a discount. Do it because YOU BELIEVE IN IT!
Vape on, brothers and sisters!

Check my ticker below. I guarantee you that at least half of that was tax. I've spent about $2400 in vape gear over that time period. And the only tax I paid on that was in the local shops at 6% sales tax - nothing on the online purchases. Too many people make that kind of move and they really do start to miss their little tax windfall from tobacco.

Up here in Canada the smokes have gone up again to over 15 bucks a 25 pack in BC so my ticker is a bit off since its reflects prices from 2 years ago but I can see that my wife and I not paying ciggy tax might pinch a little bit but as a whole I can imagine the thousands like my wife and I that have switched it would come as a punch in the face to the government officials who rely on the cig tax to support their fat perks and fancy lifestyles.

Does a bear...

Dozens of millions get spent in campaigning for a job ( President of the US ) that pays a pittance in comparison to what even a lousy CEO takes home ( $400k p.a. ).

All these campaign 'contributors' are sure to remind The Man who put the butter on the bread...

So you'n me alone won't make a dent. But two or even three million dents make for a mighty uneven sphere :D

Means the smooth ride got a bit bumpy recently - translates into : lets get tid of these non-revenue-generating-consumers

You can find all contributors to anyone's campaign by going to Home - FollowTheMoney.org . Very interesting what you might find out about your representatives. Vaping is a wedge issue for me. I typically vote conservative but I don't care who you are. If any candidate sponsors legislation against my Vape, or votes in support of said legislation, I will casting my vote for the opposing candidate. And I will let them know it. If you think your vote doesn't count you are wrong. Most local rep elections are decided with several hundred votes. I'm sure I can find several hundred vapers willing to vote someone out over vaping laws. Call your reps and let them know its a wedge issue for you and if they want to keep their job they need to vote against any and all vaping legislation. You have got to threaten their job for them to listen.
