Cigarette back taxes

For S's and Giggles I decided to check out the tax leins in my local county and noticed there was quite a few people who owed cigarette back taxes, usually in amounts of 2 to 6 thousand dollars. I assume these are from internet purchases. I bought cigs off the net for the last couple of years of my smoking life, but luckily from a source that would not give my info to the government. I was wondering if any of you guys got ripped for these back taxes. If so, my condolences.

It is probably stores who sell in the county that are behind in paying up what they collected.

Yes, it happened to me. About 5-6 years ago, everyone was buying from 'reservations' that promised never to give out information, yadda yadda. Tried it a few times.

They get investigated and they'll give whatever information they have to to stay out of trouble. Got a big fat bill in the mail this year with interest and huge fines.

That's either gotta be in California or Detroit.

Both joints are either soon gonna be bankrupt or slide into the water.

Could be, It's hard to tell from the list cause it seems sometimes they list the bus. name and other times a personal name. I don't know, Ive heard of people getting unexpected cig tax bills, but if it's really happening or how wide spread it may be I have'nt a clue.
