Does this make sense?

Hey guys,

Bought a new 510 tank (a Kabuki tank from House of Hybrids) and put it on my Provari. Was getting really, really dry hits, even though I had primed the coil (the Kabuki uses the standard Nautilus BVC coils). My wattage was low and within the range of the coils and the tank was definitely primed with juice.

I continued to mess around with it and moved the 510 pin out a smig. All of a sudden the dry hits were gone and everything is good to go.

Can anyone share why this is the case? My provari was seeing the coil (and at the right ohm) so I'm stumped....

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
MM

Brand new coil and cleaned the tank and dried.

Dry hits may have been the wrong term. They almost tasted burnt (but not quite....) I've been doing some looking around and would it make sense that if the connection was crappy that it was causing surges?

The only thing is that my Provari read the coil fine, both in rest and when fired...

I get that almost burnt taste every now and then on a brand new coil. I usaully just take a couple puffs without firing until i see bubbles in my juice and its almost at gurgle. Then I take normal puffs and adjust the power to clear up the gurgle then I set it back to normal on power. Works every time:)

My friend only fills his up halfway on a brand new coil and never gets a toasty hit on a new coil. I have tried it and knock on wood.... It works.
