I want something to feel like a Pen smoker but manage a subtank nano.

Thoughts?

Summer time, I want light weight, cig feel in my hand.

Kinda like my EVOD mega but that can fire the subtank at an acceptable 25-30 watt (even if fixed).

*** I have seen a SeVen 22 (too large), even the smok SID looks larger than need be. Maybe I am nuts and asking for too much.

Hmm I thought all the vamos were 22mm -- to hold an 18mm battery its going to be tough to get much smaller -- 3mm is not much space to work with to have the battery slide in smoothly and to have a tube wall.

it you want shorter you can look at the non-tube mods -- or maybe a mech and learn the right kind of coil matches your need... smaller outside diameter will likely require switching to something that doesn't use 18650 batteries like Susan-S recommended.

Vamo is 22mm, I read the wrong thing. So that V7 would be a good match if I stay with the 1.2 ohm coil.

The EgoONE though is good to .5 ohm, but I am not sure how many watts it is. The subtank is best at 25-30 watts on a .5 coil.

It would be nice to continue to use my .5 and 1.2 ohm subtank coils with this Nano and my other Kanger tanks. Plus I use 18650 batteries with the Kbox so a device that uses them could be handy.

You probably should consider a mech that will suite your needs. Just came across the CNote 18650 mech that is literally slightly larger than the actual battery and has flush top cap (hybrid connection) and flush switch w/ recessed button. I couldn't believe it was an 18650 mod when I saw it at my local B&M. Can you guess what it costs? that's right, a c-note. Fancy that!

Not sure if mechs are your cup o' tea though, if into regulated, as it requires decent knowledge on battery usage and safety. I've never even heard of the EVOD mega. researching now just for S&Gs.

According to an ohms calculator. With a fully charged battery, a .5 ohm coil would be 35 watts. Remember the Ego One is unregulated.

Being a noob I am not sure what unregulated benefits or detracts from. I went from a Kanger Pen EVOD Mega straight to a Kbox and only began thinking I would not mind the vape without the larger box in my pocket.

I know the 1900Mah battery in my EVOD with 3.7V and 2.5 amps which should equal 9.7 watts does not do that great with my subtank on it (1.2 ohm). This is why I figured I should target something 25-30 watts with a 18650 batt because I know those 2 combinations do good currently with kbox/subtank.

The Joytech website said at .5 ohm and full charge the ego would be 20-30 watt so it is in the ball park and probably would do better with the 1.2 coils.

Something this size, you can easily get for around $20 clone. They are called SMPL mods!!!!! SMPL=Simple, mostly because it is just large enough exactly for an 18650 battery, and your tank connects directly to the positive side of the batterywhen inserted. The bottom recessed button fire it by making contact with the negative side of the battery. Less voltage drop because there's no "middle-man" connector from battery-tank, the internet has plenty of cheap clones.

I personally have the 1100 mah. I find I need to recharge it once a day. It's not a big deal since it has micro usb passthrough and I'm always near a usb plug, somewhere through the day. The 2200 mah battery is 27mm longer (just over an inch) and isn't quite as pocket friendly, especially with the Nano, which is longer than the Ego One 1.8 ml and 2.5 ml tanks. My setup is just about exactly 120 mm from the base of the battery to the top of the stock Nano drip tip, or about 4.7 inches. With the 2200 mah it would be just a hair under 5.8 inches. That's just a bit too much height for a stealthy-ish vape, imo.

The whole bit with connecting the tank 510 to the battery directly is called a hybrid mod. I would never, never, NEVER use a hybrid mod with a clearomizer tank like the Subtanks. They're not made for it and you run a risk of shorting out the battery and causing it to vent. Not worth it. Only use tanks like clearos with batteries or mods that have a proper 510 connection and only use hybrid mods with rta's or rda's with adjustable (NOT spring loaded) 510 pins that are safe for hybrid mods. Safety first and always.

Don't get wrapped up around voltage drop. Even in a prefab mod battery like the Ego One, the drop is probably on the order of 0.1 to 0.15 volts, total. Barely enough to affect wattage, and certainly not in a noticeable manner. Voltage drop isn't really a big deal, even if you're cloud chasing. The middle man (the 510 pin in the battery) is generally brass and incurs VERY little drop. Too many misconceptions about that. What a hybrid mod gives a distinct advantage in is height profile, but that's a safe concern ONLY if you have a hybrid safe atomizer... don't turn into a vaping casualty news story over 0.15 volts (and the insignificant, unnoticeable difference in wattage it provides).

Heres the deal..i think alot of us did this.. when we started vaping we all wanted something small or discreet.
But, then we spent a fortune on disposable items..egos and the like. Until we finally became so frustrated and sick of throwing cash into the wind that we just said F it and bought 18650 powered mechs or quality regulated devices.

As others mentioned, The One is on the smaller side, but by no means small, nothing like an ego/evod..
With small you have the obvious problems of less battery capacity..so, is 1100mah or even 2,000magh going to be enough?
I know for myself and most others, no way..especially if using coils down near or below 1.0ohm..it'd last us 3-4hrs tops.
I get where your going with this..my suggestion.. An ipv 2 mini.. 70 w max single 18650, usb charging/passthru capabilities and plenty of power to run just about anything.
I've been using mine for the past week with a Pana/Keeppower 3200mah 10a cont cell and im loving it.. compact size and plenty of power.
