PLEASE NOTE BEFORE ATTEMPTING WHAT I SAY THAT IT MAY RESULT IN NEGATIVE RESULTS(IE BANNED). This is based on just a thought I had.

Thought I would share this idea I just had for those still using paypal. I am planning on switching myself, prob to authorize, but it takes some time.

Anyhow, paypal use to have what I assumed to be a bot come to my site, check out return policy, contact info, etc. everytime I transfered money to my bank account. They all came from ebay.com addresses. My thought is this. use .htacess to redirect traffic from hostnames of ebay.com to a dummy site. Simple store front selling widgets.

Has anyone tried this?

Then, apparently...you are wrong. I care.

If you really do, then don't suggest circumvention.

Close your account, and tell them why you are closing your account. Vote for e-cigs with your wallet, take your e-cig and all other business elsewhere.

Does it suck for suppliers? Sure. But trying to circumvent will only cause more issues later for them, and on top of that, makes it look like they were "right". Please don't suggest anyone does this.

Good points. When you tell them you're closing their account also mention how many e-cig customers they're losing as well. I closed mine, which means I also won't be using it for non e-cig things. They may not give two figs, but given all the bad blood about PayPal, somebody else will come in to take up the slack.

Why don't the vendors accept debit cards? That would make it easy and would also save them the expense associated w/CC's.

I can say with certainty that it is a real person checking out your site (at least when it's being vetted for, say, merchant pro status).

I would advise against setting up redirects, as whilst it may work in the short term it would only be a matter of time until somebody from PayPal finds out and takes action against the account (and any other PP aco****s you might have).

Far safer to close the relevant paypal account and seek an alternate payment provider, until PP come to their senses (which hopefully won't be too long; PayPaliens like to vape too ;)
