I have been looking at the Joye 18650 Tube mod, but it is not quite what I want. It is along the right line, but not quite.

What I am looking for is a Tube mod that has interchangeable batts, like the Joye mod does, but smaller - more along the 14500 size maybe. Does one exist?

My ultimate goal is to have this Tube Mod and then as I evolve into it be able to build a Box Mod or two that uses the same sized battery as the Tube Mod does. I think that the 18650 is just to large in diameter for this purpose. As long as I can get 3.5v - 37.v I am happy and 900mah - 1600mah is more than enough for me. This would allow me to own 4 or 5 batts and be good for a week if I went out in the boon docks and recharging was not available. It also would allow me the ease of only owning one size batt...

Again - Does a Tube Mod with these parameters exist (for a reasonable price that is)?

I have an icon and a BB. I love the icon for its size and the fact that it's 100% mechanical and a beauty. The bb I love because it uses pretty much any 14500 battery. Now the biggest 14500 I have found is 900mah. I would love to know if there is one bigger.

From what I have found the 14500 top out at 900mah. I was hoping that maybe they had other tube mods that used another batt with a higher mah that could also be used in a box mod... Something that maybe went to 1200 - 1600mah... But with the first replies help I now have a better idea of what to search for and have not found anything bigger in mah, but still in the same size range...

I have had the icon since December. The BB I just got a week or two ago off the classifieds. Each has its pluses and minuses. The icon has some ability to take different 14500 batteries via adjustments. I have used protected 14500s in it but you have to watch dimensions on the batteries closely and remove or add washers. But it is extremely small and pocket friendly. The BB is wider and taller than the icon. It is not finicky at all with 14500 batteries. Downside is it doesn't have an off setting, and although I haven't accidently fired it in my pocket yet. I stick to 306DCAs on both with 1.5 ohm attys. I will works great for me. I know my ICON won't fail me as it's 100% mechanical. I will I have seen where people have had to send in the BB for a new switch. My ICON was my daily until my wife took it for herself. Now the BB is my daily... With 900 mah Trustfire flames I get all day by carrying 1 backup batt. I also found a supplier that sold the Trustfire in an 8 pack for less than $4 a piece so I have batteries stashed at work and in the car in case I forget my backup battery.YMMV
