i have been cig free for 2 months now thanks to my ego and now ego twist. but i think i might be doing something wrong with the twist. i REALLY like using my dct tank with 1.5 ohm dual coils at 4.8 on the twist. but i got a "single coil 3 ohm" cartomizer from volcano pre punched. and i can barely put it at 4 volts b4 i get burning taste from it. same with the vivi nova. i put the 2.8 ohm coil on and barely reach 3.8 volts b4 its just god awful. i can get the 2.4 ohm to 3.8 and it taste ok. and the 1.8 ohm on just the standard ego tastes burny as well. should i just stick to 1.5 duals on the twist and the 2.4 vivi on the standard(which is a realy good vape btw)? or should i be finding 3 ohm duals? or do i need just outrageously high resistance carts?

It could be you just got a bad cartomizer. It really makes a difference from brand to brand. And, some that are sold to seem like they are a certain brand or the same as a certain brand, are not. I recently bought 2 sets of 3.2 ohm single coil cartos from two different vendors. World of difference between the flavor and voltage I can use between them. Neither one of them had a brand name on the boxes. I truly didn't care for either of them, but one was worse than the other. I went back to my Smoktech 1.7 ohm single coil cartos and was much happier. I might try a higher ohm carto in the Smok brand or another good known brand again, someday.

Some folks like dual coils, some like single coils. Dual coils and low res are both battery drainers.

That's strange. I use an ego twist and I like the 1.8ohm Vivi Novas and Kangers at around 3.8-4.2. It doesn't taste burny at all until 4.6-4.8. I use 100% VG juice so that might the reason. I do not enjoy higher ohm devices on my twists at all . .I tried the 2.8ohm head that came with my Vivi Nova kit . . nothing happening. I actually have a 1.5ohm DCT and I feel like my Twist is too underpowered for that as well - but maybe I just had saturation problems due to thick juice . .I messed with it for about a day and then put it in the drawer.

From what I read, a lot of people really like the boge 2.0ohm single coil cartos with the twist. Maybe try one of those starting at 3.3 volts.

I recently got some Ikenvape Fusion cartos to try along with what I usually use from the same vendor, Ikenvape Platinums. The first Fusion checked out correctly ohm wise on the Provari, so I vape it in a pyrex tank and it was so harsh that it was not vapable. I had to throw it out. The next one that I tried was great, no different than the Platinums.

I wrote off the first carto as a bad carto. It happens.

hmmm well maybe it was just a bad cart i dunno. as far as the juice im using its heather heavenly vapor at 50/50 6mg. maybe it was a bad carto because when it was firing i could barely hear it firing. but when i vaped it was just burn flavor. and i did wait about 2 mins after filling b4 vaping cause i know that even when you fill properly it still needs a little time to settle. however 3 bad carts in a row? well 2 bad heads and a carto. seems unusual. the 2 heads on the vivi seemed to fire properly just improperly resisted... like the 1.8 seems to be more like 1.4 and the 2,8 seems to be more like 2.4 and the 2.4 feels like 2.6 but i dont have any meters or APVs to check.. its kinda frustrating that i cant believe the marketing of the product i purchase.

on further fiddling with the vivi nova i think maybe the wicks were getting choked by the silicone cap. i cut a little slot in one and tried it on my 1.8 on the regular ego and not getting burn flavor anymore. dont realy wanna try the 1.8 on the twist though because that seems a little low to vape at higher voltages. will try the 2.8 with modified silicone cap later and see if that was the prob with the vivi. but im not trying a new carto for a while as i like how the one im using is reacting atm.
