at best they're borderline useless. now they're just useless. they have been so far off the past couple days it isn't even funny and their estimated arrival date is off by at least a day. its happened with both an amazon and a madvapes order in the past 2 days. according to them my madvapes hasn't left north carolina yet but i was supposed to have it yesterday, go figure. how can netflix be so on the ball yet the flipping postal service is in the stone ages?

I'm one of the lucky ones that has never had a problem with usps and getting timely orders from vendors. So, never having had a problem, I did alot of online Christmas shopping; now I'm afraid I'm running into problems. Bought a few items from Wallyworld and they all say they are shipped out and only the ones that were shipped FedEx are showing up on tracking.

PS I did have inconsequential problems previously. The only problems I had were two packages from LF were damaged, but the items were safe and sound inside.

Um... Netflix uses USPS.

i should have been clearer, i meant in terms of tracking and whatnot. theyre somehow able to identify what i sent back and have my next movie shipped out the same day. yet its impossible for the usps to be on the ball with something simple like updating where my package is.

USPS doesn't offer tracking with the standard cheap delivery method most of the vendors use...you can get it at additional costs.
What usps does offer is delivery confirmation...which basically means they tell you when you got your package..or more importantly they let the vendor know you got your package...now you can check the usps tracking site all day every day but they really are only required to post one point of delivery...your doorstep...the fact that they bother to list major routing hubs is just a bonus that you didn't pay for anyway.

" Verify delivery with Delivery Confirmation. Our low cost Delivery Confirmation service gives you the date, ZIP Code™ and time your article was delivered. If delivery was attempted you will get the date and time of attempted delivery. You can easily access this information with our Track & Confirm tool."

don't get me wrong usps sometimes has problems...they sat on a pallet in Jacksonville for 2 days before the contents moved on to their destinations...but if vendors went to fedex..I would not be able to order samples anymore as even fed ex super saver is 18.00 bucks in my area...(going out)

Can't stand DHL they break stuff and their insurance isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Fed Ex is good for high priced items but just about useless for small orders. USPS works but gets bogged down during holidays and if they lose something (which happens) good luck finding it. But they do pay up on claims, unlike UPS that will come up with any excuse to not pay. USPS is also tax payer funded to a small extent, in that they get interest free loans and have a monopoly on sending letters.

You get what you pay for, is the lesson here.

USPS works for me. I haven't had any problems with it: delivery times have been reasonable, and I feel the tracking has been relatively reliable to see the points it has passed through enroute. All I care about is knowing when I have to make the trek to the mailboxes. I let the junk mail pile up for days, but want to know the day a GOOD delivery will be made.
