I was scrounging around the house looking for some better small scissors than the crappy ones I was using for cutting and trimming wicks. Started rummaging through my wife's sewing stuff and hit the jackpot. Found these, still new in the package:

I promptly appropriated them. They are razor sharp and super high quality. I can really "fine tune" my wicks with these things. They also work great for tucking wick tails. Some googling revealed they are "needle craft" scissors. Highly recommended... especially if you can find them "just laying around". Be advised, they will cut right through 26ga Kanthal coil legs.

Now I just have to explain that the package of Koh Gen Do cotton pads coming from the Dermstore isn't for her. :?:

I stole my husband's wire cutters and a small screw driver! Fortunately, he took it well and jokes about my kit with those, plus tweezers, scissors, wire, ohm meter, etc. I'm tool challenged (a hammer in my hand is a danger to the wall, not the nail) but somehow I manage to make my wicks work.

tsk! they'll be blunt in no time  I wont tell - promise!....

But I try to keep my scissors just for trimming cotton or rayon and use nail clippers for wire. I'll tell you what I found easier? they are called thrum scissors, easier to handle when your hands are full of wire and wick and tweezers!

I didn't intentionally cut the coil leg with them, lol. I cut it when I was trying to trim off some wick in one of my drippers. I use wire cutters to cut my Kanthal.
