Did anyone ever ordered from dotmod asia?

Seems like dotmod will upgrade the new dotsquonk batch with this new switch design... What do you think?

Dotmod Asia is just for the Asian market, they won't ship here (I asked), and the regular dotmod.com site does not list this button upgrade anywhere I can find.

When I sent my Dotsquonk for repair (it started auto-firing) they replaced the old setup inside with this new setup. Maybe you can email Dotmod directly?

Dotmod customer service has informed me that:

"Our U.S. Team does not offer the kit for purchase, however, if you would like the upgraded button, you can send your mod in and we would be happy to replace it (="​

So a $10 upgrade would wind up costing significantly more with round trip shipping from Canada. Too bad dotmod doesn't want to take a more pro-active approach towards customer safety.

In fact that's a shame ! We will probably paid more to send back the mod than a kit purchase... And i can't live without the mods for weeks

Heard back from dotmod support again --- the reasoning put forward for not selling the upgraded switch was that dotmod wants to protect the warranties of their customers (installing the upgrade yourself would void your warranty). If I ship to them (and I probably will), they'll do the install in-house at no extra cost (according to the email I received).

However, there is no mention of the possible danger of the switch design or the availability of the upgrade on their site, so no way for the wider customer base to be aware of the issue and fix. I applaud Dotmod Asia for considering protecting actual customers (not just their warranties) in their market with an inexpensive and easily installed upgrade kit.

I agree. Looking at the BIG PICTURE, how much money could they potentially save by replacing the poorly designed switch for free and offer free shipping (not to mention its the right thing to do) should someone be badly injured from a mod explosion and resulting in a lawsuit in the millions of dollars?

Anyone here remember the Puresmoker mech mod? The manufacturer was sued for product liability, defective design and manufacture, and negligence after one of their mods exploded. The manufacturer was forced to close down due to the financial loss of the lawsuit.

Mmmm i'm not here to say something is better than other... But dotmod is giving for free the upgrade, and the next batch will be updated.
If you clean properly the first batch, it's just working great... Mine is, and i clean it every week or so, going on 15ml a day, more and less...
Even Honda, Ford or Toyota is recalling car after founding something wrong... That's just modern manufracturing, 100buck a mod, that modern scalle economy and manufacturing involved... And we are living in that kind of world

But this mod has what 12 parts max? A car has upwards of 30,000 parts... Not really a fair comparison.

How long ago did you get the repair with the upgraded switch?
