Is it actually a popular item? I can’t imagine mech users accepting that thing extending the length of their mechs so much.
I see that being a niche product for a niche market at best. I wouldn't mind the length so much as the drastic clashing in aesthetics.

there was a bunch of similar products. To turn a mech into a regulated mod.

there is not much point to them. But i did gift one to someone with a wood mech, until they got used to the idea

buy them if there is a mech that you feel you can't live without, but you are scared of mechs

but really, it just adds a board (like dna or yihi) to the 510 connection

It does have a voltage meter for battery output, and ohm reader for users who don't own those for their mech. Very portable and affordable.

I didn't realize that this was an older product.

First of all, the voltage meter isn't that useful for a mech user, because the vape will already be way too weak, so the cell is going to be replaced anyways long before the cell will hit its cutoff voltage.

That "short protection" isn't very useful as well, because most shorts that lead to critical failure happen inside the tube itself. The adapter just can not prevent that.

The 10s limit seems nice, but you should not put your mech aside unattended with a cell in it anyways. But then again the same is true for regulated mods. To carry it inside your pocket with that adapter on top is no option as well, because of the size.

Aside from the absurd .3 ohm limit, the adapter/chip diminishes the performance. First of all you have more connections, which leads to a larger voltage drop, which in turn requires you to build even lower ohm coils, but the chip itself needs additional power too, which isn't available to fire the coil as well.

The only thing that may be worthwhile is the ohm reader, but for the price you can already get a proper ohm reader.

    All solid points. :)

I was thinking about new mech users on a budget who often ask how will I know when to change out the battery in my mech. They are not experienced enough to sense how their vape diminishes over the course of their battery, and this gizmo could be put on their mech intermittantly to actually observe their battery voltage drop. A bit of peace of mind for the new user.

This gizmo is only $3, so its cheaper than most ohm readers which typically go for $10. It's also more pocket-friendly than an ohm reader.

I wasn't thinking of this gizmo as stopping a short circuited battery, but it can allegedly give an error code (F2) if it detects a short in the coil. Useful if it works.

For just $3, seems like it has a niche for some mech users that are on a tight budget.

You clearly see a use for it. Much appreciated that you then shared it here, because I had never seen it before.

Seems like a great little check in tool for people getting into mechs.

I would see it get more use on the building/maintenance table than on a working set up though. It's a bit tall.

At the price I'm a little weary of it's accuracy though. Do you own it?

No, I wasn't aware of it until someone posted about it in another thread.

I don't use mechs any longer and don't do much rebuilding coils anymore, either. So I don't need one. I just thought it might be a useful tool for a new mech user as an accessory tool.
