Thanks for the help everyone! I'm gonna go with the micro coil for now. Got my needle and wire, just gotta pick up some organic cotton. I was thinking about just buying some medical-grade cotton wrapping at CVS though. Any other suggestions?

I know I may be behind the herd on this one, but just adding my

on the cotton convo. there's a whole lot of talk about organic vs. sterile cotton and here are my own findings:
1. organic cotton in some cases is still bleached with hydrogen peroxide for whitening. in the case of the CVS organic, it says it in very small print on the front of the bag. so, instead adding any dosage of hydrogen peroxide to my vaping experience, I went with the most logical (at the time) option...sterile cotton. genius, right?
2. sterile cotton SHOULD be safe was my own thinking. if I can put it on my wounds, I should be safe. but in reality, "sterile" simply means free from microorganisms, not free from chemicals, which is one of the many reasons I stopped smoking! however I noticed that with the sterile cotton, it too had a "funny" taste to it prior to it burning off. after doing some digging around I decided to just boil to be on the uber paranoid, cautious side. upon adding my first fistful of cotton to my boiling cauldron, it not only boiled up and over the sides of the pot, but it developed a slight film, similar to when you're boiling pasta. I also noticed that when I poured the boiled cotton water out, there was a very strong sterile hospital smell in the steam. what did I do? I boiled the hell out of it until there was no more emergency room smell (5 boiling/rinse rounds) and VOILA...no more funny taste. of course my cotton doesn't look so purrty anymore, but that's fine.
now maybe you knew this already. if so, awesome!!! if not, I hope it helps you and someone else who is new to the cotton revolution (yes, we still exist...I've only been using cotton for going on 3 weeks now). I'm sure it will be eons before I ever need to boil another batch of cotton, but it is now a mandatory step in my process going forward. you never can be too safe...
again, I hope it helps!!
peace.
