Check out "cloud50" I think that is his name on youtube. He is a Hawaiian cat that has some good info on the Kayfun.

Yea I've seen his videos. He just drills out a regular kayfun. I've done that myself, but the ehpro quality is great for the price that's why I got it. Way too tight though.

This is why I haven't bought a KFL+ and instead have the Kayfun 3.1. Adjustable airflow.

Even with the adjustment screw taken out of my KF 3.1 clone the draw is way too tight. But I run a ST with 4x 1/16" holes, a IGO-W with 2x 3/32" holes and a dual coil Kraken wide open.

My EHPro KFL+ clones have air flow adjustment, and have an easier draw than my ProTank 2's. I think a lot of the problems I see on these boards about improper wicking / dry hits concerning the KFL+ have to do with air flow, especially as it relates to low ohm builds. I have found my KFL+ doesn't work well with a sub ohm set up; it just cannot keep up with juice delivery via the wicks with the air flow open enough to use a sub ohm coil. It can be done, I just had to take lots of primer puffs to feed the thing. PITA.

As to the specific problem of a tight draw, I have heard of some of the EHPro KFL's having debris in the air flow passage. I didn't have that issue with either of mine, so I didn't have to take them apart. I am sure there is a YouTube video out there somewhere about how to do that.

I am getting really good performance out of mine with 30ga micro coils wicked with cotton at 1.8 ohm, air flow pretty much wide open, screw not removed. It's not designed to be a fog machine. I look at it as a clearo on steroids.

drilling a Kayfun Clone ( or even a real one) is pretty much useless. The center post ( air tube) is the determining factor in airflow. If you dont increase the diameter of the post, you wont increase airflow. Unfortunately, there isnt enuf material there to drill out the post any more than what it is without severely compromising the strength of the post. If you have access to a machine shop, then maybe you can remake a new center post and positive block....

Yeah, I have seen rip do some neat builds for the KFL, but just not for me. I did do a 3 strand twisted 32ga coil at 1ohm and it worked pretty well, but I just had to keep taking primer puffs to get it to feed enough. Slightly better vape and flavor with it, but IMHO not worth the trouble. I do frequently build .7-1.0 ohm coils for my dripper, but that is a different beast.

Bunnykiller is right. I tried everything......drilled out the air hole, drilled the center post that lines up with the air hole, removed debris from the center post, removed the AFC screw.....all of it. It might have helped a little but nothing significant. At the end I just chalked it up at a lost and sold it. If you're looking for something similar with a bigger draw, I suggest a Russian 91%. It's a same at the KFL+ but the draw is bigger.
