I'm shocked you're experiencing worsened heartburn/dyspepsia.. I had the WORST heartburn/acid reflux when I was smoking cigs and that completely disappeared when i switched to the vape. Don't quote me on this but I've heard smoking increases stomach acid by 7x... That's too bad cutting back on the cigs didn't relieve you from this like it did for me. Also I would somewhat be blaming quitting smoking for the headache, even though I switched to vaping I still felt some withdrawal including headaches

Wow, I had not even thought of this. I haven't had a single episode of acid reflux since I quit smoking. It never even occurred to me.

Well truth be told I ate some serious, SERIOUS jambalaya last night, and..um...a lot of it. :p

At the moment, it's this tongue soreness thing that's really annoying.

I got this with my Volt and still do if I use their cartomizers. I switched from the rubber mouth pieces to a drip tip and it helped with the soreness on the tip of my tongue. Not sure if this is the same soreness you were experience. I'm just saying a drip tip helped mine out, YMMV.

something i noticed about a month in...I used to have to medicate daily for acid reflux something i have suffered badly from since having childrem 20 years ago....now I hardly have to medicate at all, only when i cant resist eating stuff i shouldn't...no longer is it trying to burn a hole through my chest or keeping me awake nightly.

Alcohol dehdrates you. Vaping causes some dehydration too. So I would recommend drinking more water. The Volt juices are usually PG/VG 90/10. If you think the juice is the issue you don't need to buy a new set up - just buy some blank cartomizers and get some of the Niquid juice Smokeless Image sells - that is PG/VG 60/40 if I remember correctly. Then fill your cartomizers.
Or try some juice from other vendors.
I'm not saying the juice is the problem though - I really recommend drinking a lot more water than usual for starters, and see how that goes.
The link some-one posted for you on symptoms of quitting cigs would be a good read too.

I've been vaping for just over 5 weeks now , lovin every minute of it by the way , but several days ago i got the RAW tongue thing with a couple of bumps thrown in too . I have no idea how or why this happened but i just rinsed my mouth with warm salt water a few times a day . My tongue is better , although i don't know why , so i'd say just tough it out for a while and see what happens .
By the way i did read somewhere in the forums that switching toothpaste to something like Sensodyne helped with mouth problems , just use the search feature above and do a little investigating . Good Luck

I didn't have time time to read the whole thread but I had this problem for about a month in the beginning. It ended up being that the nicotine mg was to high and irritated my toung and throat. I almost stopped vaping because of it. I was at 24 mg and I dropped down to 20 and 22 and all the problems went away. Nicotine is an irritant. I hope this helps and good luck:)

Huh....I aint no expert, far from it, but i reckon you've got allergies from propylene glycol. And if you don't know what that is, it's the e liquid your using. I aint read all the posts on this fred so maybe someone has already mentioned it. If not, i'll say i'm guessing your liquid is made from "PROPYLENE GLYCOL" or PG for short. There is an alternative. Get yourself some e liquid made solely from "VEGETABLE GLYCERINE" or VG for short. PG and VG are the only two options for e liquid. You could try a mix and see how you get on or just VG on its own. Apart from that i have no idea why you get headaches, heartburn and a sore tongue.

But to be honest firing it up right now is really irritating my tongue. Weird.

12mg "Desert Joe" turkish blend using a Volt 78mm battery btw.

do you know if your eliquid is PG or VG a lot of people have bad reactions to PG based liquid that could be your problem

edit :
oops i didn't read all the post before writing this didn't realize other people already noted on this

Well, I can vouch for high PG causing sore tongue when I started vaping. It was terrible for about 3 weeks...then I changed to 50/50 PG/VG, and the tongue soreness cleared right up.

Also I got headaches early on from vaping too much 24mg - nonstop vaping. These days, I DO like nonstop vaping, so I've lowered the nic to 6mg, and I'm fine all day...and all night! (Too much nic at night keeps me awake.)
