90% of the time when I use an RDA ("drip tank") it's for taste testing ejuice I make at home. Otherwise, I'm happy with RTAs (rebuildable tank atomizers) only because I'm lazy and don't want to have to keep dripping juice on the wick. Some people swear by dripping though. I guess it's just about personal preferences. I'd try both and see what you like best. Good luck!

I think he means an RDA Or RDTA.
Yeah okay. In that case, then sure, it is generally pretty well accepted that open-air "dripping atomizers" have superior flavor over the sealed-tank variety. I generally put unflavored in my tanks, and use drippers for my flavored liquids.

RDAs and RDTAs for me, nothing beats the flavor. I only use deep well RDAs (like the Magma) so don't need to "drip" very often. RDTAs offer the convenience/capacity of a RTA with the flavor of a RDA and are great for when out and about. The Cthulhu Mods Gaia RDTA is my current favorite but it only holds 2ml of juice.

I've always avoided squonking because I didn't like the mods that were available but now I'm thinking about pre-ordering one of these Pico sized squonkers;

With a bottom fed Gaia RDTA attached, I'd have 10ml juice capacity, the flavor of a dripper and a 100 watt rig that fits in the palm of your hand.....

The big advantage I find in rdas is they’re made of metal so they don’t break randomly and fill your pocket with juice. Also if you don’t over fill them they literally can’t leak. I have yet to find a tank with both these qualities, so it’s rdas for me.

They do have some issues though. They only use hand wrap coils, they need to be reworked regularly, and you have to keep dripping juice in them which can be a pain when you’re doing something like driving

If I’m right that’s an ijoy capo squonk. Uses 20700 batteries. It is not pico sized

I can understand dripping being inconvenient for some, and flat out not worth it to others for whom tanks are satisfactory. But I could never find a tank that vaped to my preferences and held enough juice to carry me all day. If I'm carrying a bottle with me anyway, you better believe I'm opting for the superior vape from a dripper.

And that's without taking into consideration that running a tank has me constantly paranoid about the status of my mod when not in use, they add tremendous bulk, weight and fragility to everything, and are way too succeptible to changes in pressure or temperature to be trustworthy where I live.

Having a compact setup is a major priority for me, so I just said forget the whole thing and now I squonk. ;)

RDA... I put high value on inexpensive, simple, as indestructible as possible, and last as long as possible. Because of deeming, simplicity and longevity is key for me. Plus flavor. And the builds are easier. Again, Deeming... I only use rebuildable atomizers. If I didn't want to drip while driving then I would use a tank for in vehicle use. I actually enjoy dripping, kind of like lighting up a cig...

I use an rda 100% of the time. In fact only one particular style, SV rda clone. There are a bunch of reasons and hard to say what's most important. The SV is small. Sitting on a Pico makes a stealthy package. There is no glass to break. They are $7 cheap. They are optimized for single coil and mouth to lung style. Becuse there is only one air supply it's easy to seal for pocket carry with a wide slip ring. I don't care much about flavor (my DIY uses only 1%) but I IIke the clean taste of fresh cotton so it's replaced twice a week, a 5 minute job. Rebuilding is a bit of a pain on the SV but worth it. I rebuild twice a month, a 15 minute job. The juice well is deep enough that I don't have to redrip so often. With temp control I can keep vaping for a good while if it's not convenient to redrip. My setup is more fiddly than a tank would be but I like the simplicity, customization, and independence. I believe life long vapers will be mixing and rebuilding sooner or later. What are you waiting for?

Reading this as I use my second full on RDA bought in 3 days. Bought an authentic Dead Rabbit on Friday and finally received my clone Goon 1.5 today.

I have 2 RDTA and 3 tanks, 1 with an RBA.

I now prefer the RDA. The flavor, and cloud are far better. It's also forcing me to learn to build my own coils.

Not sure which I prefer between the 2. Bought the clone to see if I'd like a real Goon before dropping $50 on one. Now I'm trying to determine where the difference between the clone & authentic are. I know the Goon will have better quality deck, but not sure that's worth $50 instead of another $9.

I don't really like drippers. I do think they are far more leakproof than RTAs, most likely. I just HATE that wide bore driptip that's needed for dripping, and though the taste and whatnot is great, for me it's kinda a hassle. I do have some RTAs that I like so far, but I still use drop in tanks for out of the house, as I don't want to take something that may leak or need rewicking along the way. Maybe one day I will be brave enough, but that day is not yet here....

I prefer RTAs. I’m a lazy vaper and don’t wanna bother with dripping and carrying around juice with me.

But, I’ve been really interested in maybe getting a squonker. Now a squonker looks like it was designed for me. Refill your RDA with one finger, now that peaks my interest.
