drip tip dye coming off?

I have a teal blue drip tip that's made of aluminum (I think) and I love the color, it's so bright.

I've been vaping with it, and of course, it gets dirty from time to time just as anything does that goes inside someone's mouth XD

I've noticed that when I've rinsed it, and when I would put a tissue underneath it and blow, some of the blue dye is coming off it.

Is this normal? I bought it at my local vape shop knowing it was cheap but I didn't think the dye would come off... my guess is it's coming through from the inside, as that's the part that comes in contact with the vape.

Is it still safe to use this tip? Not really sure about the chemicals that might be coming off of it, and I only rinsed it in water....

It does get a lot of contact. I would switch. Drip Tips can have problems, too.

Colored aluminum is usually anodized and should not do what you're describing.

I'd try and see if alcohol affects/removes it.

It is probably some other metal that is plated. I would replace it with a better quality one.

Thanks. I also asked the shop where I got it from what they think and they said they never heard of it before, but suggested that I line the inside with juice and then use a towel to get it all out because maybe the nic will eat it all.

I paid $7.99 for it, so I'm hoping it doesn't go to waste. XD
