Long vs short = long will give a cooler vape.
Wide vs narrow bore = wide gives more air flow up to the max of the atty.
Material choice is purely subjective based on look and feel; metal, delrin, glass, etc.
And of course many people just use the drip tip to add a little personal flair to their vape.

Metal is cooler, also. I have a longer metal driptip that I noticed a difference with and then worked from there. Obviously, plastic will heat up. All in all, the spectrum is not very wide though. I prefer the acrylics, mostly for the aesthetics.
Some materials such as steel/aluminum will also transmit heat from your topper faster as well. Delrin is cooler on sub-ohm rba builds. Glass is easiest to clean. I prefer glass just for the lip feel for the most part. And of a course glass can be very interesting...my uranium glass tip is a fav...fluoresces in ultraviolet light.
So if I wanted a warmer more flavour vape should I go for a short small bore drip tip ?
That is probably a good place to start. As always, a little experimentation may be needed to find perfection.
Ignore Wonner, he got it all wrong. Longer makes for a cooler vape. Wider gives more airflow, narrow gives less. Metals heat up faster, acrylics and plastics less so. It's a personal choice really.

But I should caution that ignoring wonner is never a good idea.
I find metal heats up faster than plastic or acrylic. I have an rda that make metal tips too hot to use.

Alot of high quality tanks use metal tips.
The high quality ones use steel tips.
I'm not sure if there are some that are actually aluminum, but the aluminum ones are probably good too.
There's alot of plastic tips; we usually hear of delrin plastic tips.
Some cheap clones use chromed brass tips and YUK! they taste terrible; at least to me; it kind of grows against me over time if I keep vaping it.
I like some 'shorty ceramic' drip tips I got a month ago; they taste neutral; flat; and they don't heat up as fast as a metal tip.
I also ordered some drip tip insulators but so far they never arrived ...yet.
There are also long drip tips; useful to get a cooler vape; ordered some of those too.

And then of course there's all kinds of fancy looking tips that some people like; swirly colored things.
We don't see much of rubber soft nipple things yet tho instead of hard steel! I could see myself sucking on a nipple
Short - yes.
Small bore or wide bode depends on whether you want a more airy draw; if it's already a tight draw to begin with then it won't make a difference.
