I'm intrigued by the idea of being able to use smaller quantities of juice at a time. For those of you who enjoy dripping, what about it draws you to do it? Advice for someone interested in it? I'm relatively new to vaping but have been picking up a lot the last couple weeks I've been on here. Everyone has been so helpful. I find that I really appreciate the smaller capacity of my mini protank2 because I enjoy switching flavors up quite a bit, especially while we are trying so many different flavors to find out what we enjoy.

I am still trying to work through flavors here too, and I tried some basic drippers thinking I could just drip new flavors at will. For me, that wasn't the case. Once I dripped a flavor a few times, adding a different flavor just mixed the flavor with the old. It wasn't as bad as just emptying out a clearo and filling with a new flavor without changing heads, but after a few flavors it got bad fast. I have 7 clearos I rotate out so I can keep them clean and fresh to try new flavors at will, and yeah I have several clearos soaking in water all the time to remove the last flavor to try the new one. But I do have new tanks all the time to try new flavors. For me to do that with a dripper they would have to cost as much as a new PT2 head and some time cleaning out the tank.

exactly Australe. Flavor stays in my experience. I tried a mint once and it took forever to get it out of my tank lol. S'mores was the same way lol. I would love to take a hit of S'mores every once in awhile, but to quickly move away from it in a tank requires lots of tanks to keep in a cleaning rotation, for me.

I got a cinnamon flavor, love it. But only on occasion. I have yet to figure out how to get that flavor just when i want it without dooming a tank to that flavor for awhile even with cleaning the tank and replacing the head.

This is just me, but the only flavor I can keep active is Bubblegum, because I like chewing gum. It gets funky if I don't change tanks and heads though. Constant Cotton Candy sucks, but is good every once in awhile, just like real cotton candy. I have a whole lot of juices just like cotton candy....

In my happy place
I have a really small cheep RDA it cost like 5 bucks, someone gave it to me. I do not use it much but the flavor in much stronger than with my mini protanks. Changing flavors takes seconds, pull out the cotton and put a new piece in. It is great for trying different flavors or like tonight I do not know what I want to vape so I have like 10 bottles and a bunch of cotton balls in front of me.

Just by comparing your run of the mill atty to your run of the mill tank, the main difference will be a warmer slightly more flavorful vape. You wont go through less juice dripping most likely. You'll just have to drip it.

I drip exclusively but by using rebuildable atty. To me everything is noticeably better. More taste, warmth, and much more vapor. I like tanks for convenience but for the most enjoyable vape RDAs take it.

If you want to try out dripping then I recommend starting with a cheapie like a Squid RDA or similar clone. If you like it then there is nothing better than a Trident. They are dual coil and have adjustable airflow holes through the top cap. I know the crappy cell phone pictures don't due it enough justice. If you don't want to run dual coil the the adjustable holes have the ability to just run one air hole and block the hole on the unused side. 90% of my friends that have tried mine have bought one for themselves. They run about $20.

Dude you have to take the cap off every time you wanna drip? Sweet RDA but just looks like a hassle

I drip with an IGO-W about 90% of the time (dual microcoils). I usually rotate between several flavors throughout the day but try to keep them in the same "family" of flavors. Like someone else said, stuff like mint and menthol are difficult to get out. :) If flavors start blending too much, I just pull the cotton wicking out with tweezers, dry burn the coils, and pop new cotton in. Just takes a couple of minutes. Rebuilding both coils takes me maybe 15 minutes tops.

I'm completely spoiled by dripping and hardly ever use tanks because they seem to really muffle the flavor, with the exception of the Genesis-style tanks which are better but still not (to me) as good as straight dripping. I'm a drip-a-holic. :)

(Edited to add: The biggest drawback I've found to dripping is that if you sample stuff at stores using their setups, they taste completely different than they do at home in your dripper. I have made some regrettable purchases because of this.)

Somebody recently brought up the 306 atty in another thread. These are fantastic un-sung heros for tasting if you do not want to get into rebuilding. They are nearly impossible to find "sealed" (no hole in the 510 connection) and really only can hod 1-3 drops of liquid right on the coil at a time. They don't tend to hold on to previous flavors as much, so when switching flavors the "blend" time is minimal. IMO they are the best of the best flavor wise, though definitely not convenient. I always use a 306 on occasion, but only when tasting or in the mood for some higher maintenance vaping at home to "treat myself."

Otherwise, a nice SMALL RDA like an Igo-S is good for tasting juices. Build a small micro-coil, and swap out cotton and dry burn the coil between flavors. It's a small chamber, so it doesn't hold a lot of juice. If you maintain your cotton wicks to have nice short tails, it can perform really quite well as a taster/dripper. Also, (again due to it's tiny chamber size) the Igo-S packs some truly fantastic flavor compared to larger RDA's. It's not an RDA with a large deck you'd shove two inch tails of cotton/silica around in to soak in juice. It's a solid little stainless steel RDA that is really affordable and performs just like a traditional dripper atty.

I just pop off the mouthpiece. Only time I take off the top is to burn off left over liquid when switching flavors. Removable tip like most of them out them. Honestly the only complaint I had was the mouthpiece it came with, just felt weird to me. That bent pipe works amazing with every dripper I've put it on and helps keep it level.

Oh, be careful dripping is highly addictive most will never make it back to a carto

yeppers, being here in Baghdad I ordered everything all at once (rba ,clearos, mech mods, and a vv/vw mod) when I started a few months ago. I watched some youtube vids on clearos, tank maintenance, and wrapping coils then decided to start with the coil, cotton, rba combo bec. it seems less messy and less fuss. I enjoyed it so much that I have yet to break the seal on my clearos and protank.

The only time I don't drip (I use a 30 gauge ~2.0 ohm microcoil on an Igo-L RDA with my iTaste MVP 2.0, and a 28 gauge ~1.0 microcoil on a Smok Scar RDA with my Cronus clone mechanical mod) is when I am driving. Well, that's not entirely true as I do drip when stopped at a red signal, just never when I am actually driving.

They are simple to build, last a long time, produce very good vapor, and give much better flavor than you can with any clearomizer. I still do use my clearomizers, but they are delegated to my iTaste VV 3.0.

I like to switch flavors very often, so drippers are ideal for me. A lot of times, I don't even need to rewick it (I use cotton) when changing flavors, if I carefully vaporize the last bits of juice in the wick with careful and short firings to prevent burning the cotton. Then I drip in the new flavor, and get no remnants of the previous flavor. Only when changing from one of my mint flavors do I rewick, and rewicking cotton is simple and can be done very quickly.

You really can't go wrong by getting a dripper. Even if it turns out that dripping is a hassle (some people can't stand only being able to hold 10-15 drops in the juice well), an RDA is a good thing to have on hand. For example, when you order several new juices at one time, and want to try them all to find out which ones will be put into your clearomizer / tank / cartotank / etc. first.

I recently switched from pro tanks over to a kayfun and a helios dripper. I'll never go back.

Dripping is the most satisfying way to vape. I use my kayfun when driving, or when I'm out and about and dripping would just not be feasible or convenient. But if I'm home, at work, or stationary I drip now.

I switch flavors without changing the wick all the time. I wait till the current wick is almost dry (handful of puffs), drip in the new flavor. After one or two pulls I can't taste the old. But as others said some potent flavoring, menthol, mint, etc may require a rewind which does literally take about 15 seconds if you are using cotton.

Dive in, the water is warm!
