Here's the answer of the day... I'm not dead set against anything, I just can't see why so many people recommend the Reo - it's nothing special IMO. You still have to build the coil yourself - I consider this an upside, newbies off an Ego don't.

No you don't have to build a coil. It will take a regular plain old fashioned dripping atty like a 510, 306 or cisco.

The last person who had this conversation never owned or tried a REO. I think you need to use something before providing any kind of review that can be taken seriously.

It's okay not to like something. I felt that way about Provari, although I will admit it is a well built device and delivers. It was just too heavy for me.

But before I ever made a comment on the provari, I did own 2 of them. I was able to put the device thru it's paces, inside MY lifestyle, to see if it "fit".

You still have to build the coil yourself - I consider this an upside, newbies off an Ego don't.

I use shorty cartos on mine. Just like it. Sometimes a Cisco atty. RBAs haven't been out all that long, people were vaping w/out them for a long time now.

But as I've always said, there is more to just the device. The customer service makes it or breaks it, and you will not find better CS than with REO. (I had a different BF before this, I got rid of it because just the thought of dealing with the CS for that device made me want to rip my hair out. :)) I don't need the stress.

I call Randy at RTD and Robert at REO the dynamic duo. I have not run across better CS, or better products, or more knowledgeable people. It just works for me.

I don't know of any vendors carrying it yet, but I'm sure it'll pop up soon enough if you keep looking on the interwebs.

i wouldn't do that... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-not-close-being-waterproof-mod-part-1-a.html

didn't survive a quick dunk in the toilette for long.

eMats... a dripper with an on the move life style... sounds like a REO is right up your alley. give one a try. if you don't like it, sell it. people will be lined up to get one for a couple bucks off retail. ;)

Ok, got it. Good mod, just a bit overpriced. A simple mech/good tank system would do the trick though, at a much more versatile form factor given 18350 batteries with the option for 18650 kicked. It's an acquired taste IMO and shouldn't be recommended as an "end all" resolution for a somewhat newbie jumping from an Ego Twist as I see so often on this forum.

"What should I get?" - reosmods - crazy.

I should probably finish reading this thread before replying.... but gee whiz. I think this is a worthy post to reply to.

Overpriced? Grands are $144. Let's just take the grand as the base line (I don't own a grand, but it is the most popular model, for what I can gather). 144/12=12. National average price for name brand smokes is as of Jan 12 2014, according to the New York Times, now $5.95 per pack. The average US smoker, according to the CDC in Oct 2013, consumes 22 cigarettes per day.

So, for less than 2 days worth of cigarettes per month for a year, you can own a REO Grand... and there is no way you will only get a REO to last a year.... They don't just stop working. But, for the sake of this conversation, 2 packs of smokes a month for a year is worth a REO Grand. 12 bucks a month. Seriously. 12 bucks a month for only 1 year.

OK. Now that we understand a REO really isn't a luxury item like a Rolex and have put the price tag in perspective... Let's talk about the different product offerings. You mentioned "versatile form factor" and also talked about batteries and a Kick.... A Grand can be kicked. Lots of people have done it. Some people stack batts in their REOs. In fact, REO also has a VV model if you like VV. As to "versatile", well, REO has a 510 connector. You can put anything 510 you want to on it. I've seen pics of people switching to a tank on top of their REO (Not something I would have any reason to do, but the search box can find you such posts and comments regarding the users reasons) - You can drip an atty on a REO. You can use anything 510 you want. So, versatility is covered. Somehow you assumed the bottle inside the REO must be used under all circumstances. That isn't true. Then we can talk about the mini - the mini 2.0 - the wood mods - the VV Woodville - The VV Grand.... lots of options.

Hate the REO if you want, but tell me to stop recommending it? Uhhhh. Nope. Sorry. Feeders are the most hassle reducing vaping items in existence. And, REOs are excellent bottom feeders (in fact, I think they are the best bottom feeders available). Heck, call me a fanboi if you want. It's OK with me. The REO is an excellent device and I'm glad I have a couple of them. I've owned and or borrowed and or have been sent for review well over 120 different mods since 2011. Only a small handful stand out as *excellent*. REOs are among the *excellent*.

The form factor and compact nature of the REO grand is perfect for any occasion, except perhaps a vape circle jerk where everyone's flashing their LEDs to each other and examining each others led readouts.

And gawking with wild eyed amazement at the fluorescent green juice in each other's cartotanks.

This kid doesn't attend those little fiestas, though, so if that's your bag, the REO prolly ain't your box.

I think mine looks bad AYuss. Then again, so does that oliveR it's hangin with :)
