I am interested in dripping, although I thought I should seek some advice before I jump in.
I am a little apprehensive because I really dont want to ruin my atomizer as I had one crap out on me last night, which in itself isnt a big deal but im on vacation and I only have 2 spares left....blah blah blah.
I put in a order for drip tips, liquid, and a spare atty last night so that stuff should be here by Wed I hope.
So, is there any advice you guys could give me as far as dripping w/out a drip trip? Will dripping directly on the atomizer screw it up? I use a basic 510 atty (as far as i know) on a ego.
I find that I am topping off my carts like mad these days and I think im finally ready to make the switch to dripping so any advice or links to exsisting threads would be so very helpful! Thanks for all your help and Happy Turkey Day to all!:)

Drip tips are only tips with holes in them. Either way you are dripping directly onto the atomizer.

Drip a drop onto your atomizer and then put your cart back on. It's basically the same things as dripping using a drip tip. Drip tips are just more convient because you don't need to pull the cart off each time.

You can also use the standard plastic non-filled cartridge that came with your atomizer. The filling can stop some of the TH in my opinion.

Just remember no more than 2-3 drops when dripping or you'll flood it and need to blow it out.

Your atomizer might not be dead either. Try blowing it out with a paper towel and if that doesn't work, you'll need to clean it with water or alcohol. But if it still heats up, it's not completely dead and can possibly be revived.

You can't kill an atty by dripping. You can, however, kill batteries, but only if they are auto's and have a hole in the atty end. If you flood your atty, just blow it out and you're good to go. Dripping is really easy, a drip tip just makes it easier. If you've got a cart, just take it off and pull the filler out. Drip 3 drops on the atty bridge, put the cart back on and puff. You'll get around 12 decent hits. When the flavor changes even slightly, just repeat the process.

As mentioned above, you can't kill an atty by dripping. But you can kill it by not dripping enough; keep it wet, even at the possible inconvenience of flooding it. If in doubt, give another couple of drops.

The advantage you have with an eGo is the cone; it works wonderfully to contain spills caused by overdripping.

I drip so I don't have to mess with cartridges or cartos. I think it does provide a purer flavor because you don't get that burnt plasticky taste when the cartridge runs low. Chain vaping is a lot easier because you don't have to wait for the foam to wick the juice to the atty. When vapor runs low, I just re-drip.

Plus, it helps me regulate my time when I'm on a smoke break at work (I still go outside for the social aspect). 2-3 drops will usually last me about the same amount of time as a regular analog.

I'm confused, is dripping to achieve a stronger hit?

Same as bubbajoe for me. Convenience. I've found the same thing about the "smoke breaks" at work. I put 3 drops in and it's just long enough.

I still use cartomizers for times like watching a movie or going to bed when it is too dark to drip, or while I'm driving. (Don't Drip and Drive.) I just fill my cartomizers while I'm on the computer, then I've got a week's supply.

BTW, welcome to ECF!
