Agreed. The only possible harm from dripping is putting in so much that it floods the automatic battery (hence the manufacturers' warning). If don't go over 5 drops at a time, this should not happen. Dripping cannot harm the atty; it's just another way to get juice to the metal mesh.
Developing direct juice feed (coil never gets dry) and temperature control (coil never gets too hot even if gets dry); with these, the atty should last far longer.
