I am still quite new to the forums and to the wonderful world of vaping. I purchased a blu before finding these awesome forums and have since been looking for a true fit for my vaping needs. I have seen the terms Dripping and Drip tip being used in quite frequency and have also seen the latter for sale. What is the point and the difference in this part? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Dripping means dripping the juice straight onto the atomizer bridge/mesh. Drip tip is the mouthpiece that fits onto the atomizer instead of the cartridge.

Dripping is only safe on manual style batteries. Dripping into an atomizer connected to an automatic battery will eventually cause certain death of your battery since they run on a sensor. If you get juice down to the sensor, your battery will croak.

So what is the advantage? Wouldn't your juice burn off the atty quicker requiring refilling more often?

The advantage is better flavor, vapor, and throathit. Yes, your juice will burn off faster so constantly dripping can be a PITA. However, I like to drip new flavors when testing due to the flavor the dripping gives over using a cartridge or cartomizer. If I love the flavor dripping, than I would use a cartomizer to vape with. I hope that makes sense. I like to vape the simplest way possible which for me is a cartomizer.

...yep, you only drip a couple r3r4 drops at a time and get 5r6r7 puffs before you re-drip...it is kinda old school and much preferred by many...I find it too messy and fiddly for my tastes...many drippers prefer it, when sitting around the house to get the "cleanest" taste from the juice...although, I don't care much(or enough) for the taste of dripping either........

So what i took from your post is that you would drip to test the flavor then figure out if you would actually vape it or not. HMMM, That makes a lot of sense but seeing as how i still have only automatic batteries its not much of an option right now. Thanks for clarifying this issue for me. I am defintly narrowing down my search for the perfect setup for me. Manual is the way to go and battery life is essential since i am constantly vaping at home and in the car.

Since you vape at home, have you considered a passthrough? They are excellent. Just make sure you use a wall connector for it and not your computer since most passthroughs are 5V. Much like yourself, I travel a long distance just to get to town. I love my ego batteries...long life so no worrying about a dead battery.

Most definitely, DO NOT drip using an automatic battery! If you decide to go with a manual, I recommend getting a drip tip to fit whatever you are going to purchase. Yes, it makes testing out a new flavor worth it. I don't mind dripping when I'm at home but for traveling, I prefer cartomizers once I decided on a good juice.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am currently looking into a JOYE eGo for the long battery life, harder hit and better quality than the one i am using now. I'm wondering if this will also be able to use carts as well as the two piece setup? Really excited about ordering and wondering if this is a good choice.

Dripping is the only thing I use atomizers for. 3-piece ecigs come with atomizer+cartridges which is fine for learning to vape but most prefer cartomizers (combined disposable larger cart with internal atomizer). I have sealed manual batteries and I drip on the atomizer to test new juices, vape juices I use rarely, and juices that are thicker than work well in my cartomizers. But 95% of my vaping is with cartomizers containing my 2 main flavors. I also use plastic and delrin drip tips just as comfortable easy-to-remove mouthpieces on cartomizers.
