How do these drip tips work?

I have been vaping for about 3 weeks. I started off with a two-piece KR808d-1 from SmokeTip (been a huge fan of their prices and customer server -- but that is not the point of this post).

Then I learned (from this forum) that DSE901 atomizers would work with the KR808 batteries, and I thought about tyring my hand at dripping. I bought a couple of 901 atomizers from Lite Cig USA (another supplier that so far I have been very happy with -- but again not the point). I also purchased a drip dip since I had read many posts saying this was a great, inexpensive purchase that would greatly increase the convenience of dripping.

I am not sure if I purchased a poor variant of the drip tip or if my use of it is flawed. But I am having a hard time understanding what is so good about a dript tip.

Dripping straight onto the atomizer wick is working very well for me, but using the drip tip is problematic. The drip tip opening is not wide enough to add a drop without it hitting the opening and then it spreads around the insides of the drip tip and seeps into the atomizer. The result is always that the next puff I take tastes horribly of the raw juice (either from it being right at the opening or perhaps perhaps because I may even be sucking up a little of it that is stuck to the sides.).

So the question is, am I using the drip tip incorrectly? Did I chose a poorly designed drip tip? Or is this just the nature of drip tips?

TIA for any advice.

You know what bugs me the most about ALL methods of vaping that I've tried so far? Is that for every method I've tried, the result is better if you wait a minute between drags to allow the wicking process. Except for dripping, but dripping (I don't care what they say) is a PITA: but at least you don't really have to wait, heck you don't even technically need to use a drip tip or a mouthpiece at all, you can just tail pipe it if you want.

When is someone going to invent a PV that works all day on one charge, holds 5ml of e-liquid and can be used continuously without "waiting a minute" between drags?

1. If you are dripping wih Smoketip batteries be careful - they are autos aren't they? Autos can be more easily killed by juice leaks because they are dependent on the drag sensor in the tip of the battery. I recommend manual KR808D-1 batteries or manual vapor4Life ones

2. The first drip tip I got for 901 gave me nothing but trouble. It was a short clear colored plastic one and the juice would stick in the tube even if I puffed in or shook it downward and I would get a mouth full of juice. So I got one of the aluminum ones instead (at LiteCigUSA.net) and the juice seemed to go down more easily.

dormouse: As to point 1, I did buy a couple of manual KR808 batteries from LiteCigUSA for the purposes of dripping. As to your second point, it sounds like the drip tip I am complaining about might be the exact same one you mention having trouble with. I will try one of the aluminum ones when I place my next oder with LiteCigUSA and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip.

I love drip tips but I don't use them by dripping directly into them because I have the same problem. It's probably a combination of the fact that I use higher VG (thicker) juices and/or may not be patient enough.

I pop the drip tip out to drip (whether into a carto or onto an atty), then replace it. I use them because I like the feel of the drip tips in my mouth, they're easier to pop out for a refill than the standard white caps in cartos (mostly what I use) with no need for any type of tool, and probably most importantly, because I use different colored drip tips (Nhaler has approx 50 different colors) to color code my flavors.
