Dripping for really dumb dummies

I have acquired a number of juice 'samples' that I would like to start tasting but do not wish to dedicate a carto/clearomizer to. Dripping is the best way I know to accomplish this but I am lost when it comes to atomizers/dripping in general.

I have a number of eGo batteries as well as just having moved up to a Vamo V3. All have 510 connectors (I think??).

I was told by a crappy brick and mortar store that I visited recently that I need to order an atomizer, 306 drip shield, XL drip tip and 510 to 510 connector and pointed towards an online shop.

I guess my question is two fold.

1) Does this sound right?

and

2) No specifics given on the atomizer. I was simply told an 'atomizer'. I am assuming this would be a 510 atomizer but the 306 drip shield (and lack of anything in front of 'atomizer') threw me off a bit. Maybe it was supposed to be a 306 atomizer.

Am I correct or did I make an ... out of myself by assuming?

As I mentioned, I'm a bit confused by what all the pieces do, how they fit together, and specifics on ordering the proper pieces.

I need some help figuring out what pieces I need and how they fit together so I can order something. I still have to wait for the order to process, ship and be delivered before I can start sampling juices which is a real bummer.

Thanks!

I am also a dummy at dripping, but have tried it before. Any 510 drip tip will work with a 510 atty. The biggest bit of advice I can give from my own meagre experience is this: Attys will come with a primer in them. This stuff is mega nasty for some reason. It's usually just a mix of PG & VG but still.. I blow it out (from the connector end) as best I can into a paper towel. Keep doing that until the paper towel is dry then drop a few drops of juice in and test. Until you get the feel of how your atty works, you may get dry hits until you get enough liquid in there. It's all trial and error. To be honest, I had such a bad experience with cheap attys I ordered an HH 357 from avidvaper. It's not here yet, but it's worth a try.

The only reason I would even bother with it is my favorite juices are 100% VG. Otherwise I'd just stick with my protanks and call it a day.

Again, I haven't found my flavor(s) yet so I am going through them like girlfriends in Jr High.

I would like to start sampling so of the many samples I am collecting as my search for MY flavor or flavors continues.

I just got a bunch of teeny tiny samples from Alice in Vapeland. I'm dying to dry them but don't want to dedicate a clearomizer to each one, not even a CE4.

So, I was going to drip them and figure out which ones I want to invest more $$$ into larger bottles (and tanks) too.

I have no idea why the guy I was talking to mentioned the particular parts/pieces that he did other than his own personal preference.

I was wondering why I needed $6 drip tip, a $9 atomizer AND a $7 connector not to mention whether I need a drip shield or a drip shield cone. Or whether the atomizer should be a 510 or a 306.

Very confusing.

I thought a 510 atomizer and drip tip was all I needed.

Now I have NO idea what I need (or why). LOL!! You gotta love vaping. More acronyms and terminology than IT and the military put together. At least as many!!!

First of all, you suck for having girlfriends in junior high. You can buy a 306 atomizer with the 306 drip tip already over it from a lot of online vendors. 306 atomizers do fit 510 threads. But the brick and mortar was talking about a regular drip shield. A drip shield is just something you can put over an atomizer so if you over drip it wont leak out over your mod. They are sometimes called Empire drip shields. No you dont need a 306 cover for a 510 atomizer. You can buy a 306 or a 510 atty and use an empire drip shield.. but you cant use the 306 atomizer's cover with a 510 atomizer. 306 atomizers are designed differently. you cant put a regular drip tip on them. they are thin. You buy a special 306 drip tip that goes over the whole atomizer. The only reason you'd need a 510 to 510 is if your going to use a drip shield. Attys are sometimes too short for a drip shield without the 510 to 510 adaptor.

I have some stainless 510's that I use to sample flavors. It's easy as pie to use. Drip 4-5 drops and vape till the taste goes away. Rinse with hot water, blow out, and start again. However, small diameter drip atty's vape hot and dry. At least in my opinion they do. Not good for anything other than testing flavors.

I have a couple knockoff igo-l's that I bought from fasttech for under 8 bucks. They pretty much rock for the price. They come rigged dual coil @ 1.8+/- ohms. Plenty of vapor and excellent flavor. I'm starting to use my clearos less and less now. You can switch flaves by rinsing with hot water and blotting dry. Just drip and go from there.

I've found them to be much easier than what I thought going in and they are a game changer irt to flavor and vapor. Compared to the price of 510's and igo clones I would definitely recommend at least considering a bigger rba.

This is what I picked up for testing Juices. You screw the atomizer on, then put the tip over it, then drip 5 or 6 drops down, let it sit for a minute or so, take a few dry pulls, then fire it. Take a few puffs then add a few more drops. If you want to switch flavors unconnected the atomizer run it and the drip tip under warm water. Shake the water out of the atomizer load a new flavor and continue.

What resistance did you go with?

Simple as pie, get yourself a 510 atty and a drip tip. Attach to your device and pulse the fire button while listening for crackle, if none your atty is dry and you can prime it with 5-6 drops of e liquid and vape to the flavors gone. If it does crackle you have priming fluid in there and need to blow it out as described, then add 3-4 drops and vape. I personally don't drip through the drip tip, I pull the tip and drip right into the atty the replace and vape. While cleaning between flavors will prevent flavor creep I do not always do it (lazy) and just get a little flavor mixing at first then the new flavor will shine through.

Also once you are primed I find more than 3-4 drops will result in leaking.
