I have been complaining about burnt taste in my Inferno since I came to the forums. Then yesterday I did the Crest Pro cleaning atty thing. I realized... oops...all I have is cartomizers and one magma atty. So (seeing as how I don't like filling the magma cartomizers) I put on the magma atty, dripped 4 drops on it and stuck on the little plastic piece(drip tip didn't fit).
NO burnt taste. wth? Been using it like this for 20 hrs while I wait for the cisco to completely dry out. It tastes as good as the Joye 510 now.
Am I doing something wrong with cisco atty? Should I put more than 4 drops on it? I thought the gurgling sound was a bad thing. I am hoping the cleaning will help. Did I get one that just burns too hot?
Next question(s) e-liquids.
I have noticed that some liquids actually hurt my lungs when I inhale. I mean beyond menthol burn harsh but actual asthma type pain. It isn't actual asthma, just a second of that kind of pain.
Strangely I can vape a peppermint flavor with the harsh burn without that pain, but I tried a coffee flavor and it hurt, same with black cherry.
All the liquids are the same strength nicotine (24mg) I just ordered the sampler flavors with PG/VG option from Perfect Electronic Cigarettes. The butter rum, pina colada, peppermint, candy cane, and a few others are perfect for me and offer good TH as well as vapor but most important no painful asthma feeling. I love cinnamon but I can't handle PEC's. Then I tried their pie spice with cinnamon in it, I was fine.
I am so confused and I am worried to go to another vendor like Tasty Vapor. What if I'm sensitive to PG and I get a big bottle of something I can't vape. Anyone else have this and is it related to PG?
Right now I have 30 flavors in 6ml bottles and I need to cut the nicotine strength since it's beginning to be too strong and I have NO IDEA how to cut it if I don't know what is causing the problems with certain flavors.
I don't want to be locked into a particular vendor. Though all my orders from PEC come fast, they're just not so fast on answering questions on support tickets.

Giving your thread a *BUMP* since you have no answers yet ;) I'll help with what I can

Am I doing something wrong with cisco atty? Should I put more than 4 drops on it? I thought the gurgling sound was a bad thing. I am hoping the cleaning will help. Did I get one that just burns too hot?
Gurgling means it's flooded. Generally, you can just blow through it to get rid of the excess liquid. I know mine is flooded when that liquid comes out a dark color.

I'm not sure what method you used to clean your atty, but it's generally recommended to clean it once a week at least. It's not hard, it's a soak and a dry. I've found blowdryers help speed the process along quite nicely. Some folks use a dry burn. Others just let it air dry. It's up to you. :)

What if I'm sensitive to PG and I get a big bottle of something I can't vape.
The trick when you're starting out is SMALL bottles. 5-10ml bottles. Definitely try different levels of pg/vg and a couple different levels of nicotine in several different flavors. You'll have no idea what's gonna taste good to you. And especially if you just quit smoking, your taste buds ARE going to change. You'll be able to taste things much better. Definitely get some lower nicotine, but keep that higher stuff on hand in case a really bad craving hits you.

I need to cut the nicotine strength since it's beginning to be too strong and I have NO IDEA how to cut it if I don't know what is causing the problems with certain flavors.
People say to cut it with pg or vg (vg in your case it seems). You can get that in walmart near the pharmacy (it'll be called a "skin protectant" I think). Someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong but this appears to be the stuff:
Walmart.com: Humco: Skin Protectant Glycerin USP, 6 Oz: Beauty

Otherwise, you can stock up on some low-no nicotine juices in flavors that will mix well (chocolate, vanilla, etc) with others, so you don't lose any flavor when you cut it.

Definitely try different vendors. You will be happy you did. The vendors that are registered in this forum are a great place to start. Try these links to see who has the best sales going on now.

Hopefully someone will come along and pick up the other questions I didn't get to. Keep it up, you're doing great!

Oh, and welcome :D

when i first got my cisco atty it tasted burnt to me as well. the thing with mine was it was a genaric brand one and the wick was a real shotty material so i just pulled it out. The wick is the small thread stuff between the bridge of the atty. Also when i contacted nhaler about the burt taste he said that u might want to put about 6 drops on the atty. yes this may flood it but it also will burn faster off the atty as the cisco from Volcano is LR. All of their attys seem ot be. The magma also doesnt have the threads going on top and around the bridge so you wont or shouldnt get any burnt taste out of them at all and they will hold true to the theory of when the flavor dies ur out of juice. The lung thing, i can only say that with anything other than menthol if i take the same kinda drag i do with menthol i get the same thing. it seems to be nothing with the PG VG ratio but more with how long of a drag i take. It also didnt matter with me how strong then ic level was but if i took too long of a drag to get more flavor out of the drag i would get the same feeling. just try and take a smaller few drags with the different flavors and see what you get from it but try dewicking the 306 or putting more drops in it and see what happends and let us know.

Thanks so much to both of you for the replies. I did try the 'more drops' in the cisco atty and it kinda just gurgled and then when it was done with that it tasted burnt again. I am going to 'dewick' it tonight. I am guessing I just pull that tiny wick out and I'm done?
And you are right about the magma atty. Perfect taste, only bad when it dries out. I was just shocked that it never tasted burnt like the cisco did. I think you are spot on about the wick being the culprit.
As far as the juices go I will try different vendors. I was just concerned that certain juices made me 'feel' bad when I inhaled while others didn't. And it was a kind of weird sensation since it didn't happen with the 'mint' type flavors. They burned but not in the same way.
I have asthma (yeah and I smoked... derrr) and this sensation is 'like' asthma but it's not the real thing just that bad heavy feeling that is uncomfortable. I'd rather stay AWAY from that feeling since it isn't pleasant. I figure if I was allergic I'd already know about it. But if I'm sensitive and PG is causing that bad feeling, I'll cut my juice with VG instead.
And I wanted to try out the Butter Rum from TV but they only sell big bottles (1oz) and you specify PG/VG... etc.
Anyway thank you both so much for taking the time to answer my questions.

Did you get your cisco atty from Volcano?

If so, then let them know your issue with the hardware so they can quickly send you a replacement.

I strictly vape with the Inferno and cisco atty and get no burnt taste (even from beginning).

3 drops of juice is the max I can get in it before it starts leaking.

Another trick that worked for me is to role my Inferno around after dropping the juice...iono if that was the key, but subliminally I got a good TH from it...lol.

Thanks everyone. First off I don't have a volt meter to test it. I wish I did. I haven't been able to get it to work as well as the magma atty does (as far as taste). I think you may be correct about it being a tad different than others. It seems to burn a bit hotter and the liquids are tasting different in it. I have been using it with really spicy flavors like cinnamon or snickerdoodle and it's harder to notice the burnt taste.
And 4door I may take you up on the pm if I have too many questions for the forum. I will keep at it and see if there isn't a way to get it to taste properly or just let Volcano know that it simply isn't working properly.
Thanks again and Have a happy holiday.

An update to the strange burnt taste for the cisco atty from Volcano. Well it works now and I really don't know why. I simply kept using it. I did check the wick after I cleaned it and pulled out a couple of threads that looked brown. That didn't seem to stop the nasty taste.
Today after I used it for about 2hrs of vaping it suddenly stopped tasting like crap. OMG this thing is a vapor powerhouse. I never knew. Anyway if it's of any use to anyone else I kept giving it 5drops of liquid whenever the taste was unbearable(guessing it was drying out at that point) then when it got to the point it seemed to lose flavor I started adding 2-3 drops. Almost every time it gives a slight gurgling sound (slight flooding)but that goes away quickly and is replaced by clouds of vapor.
Now all I need is to get a volt meter to test this thing to see what it's actually doing. At least the flavor of the juice is no longer burned and nasty.
Thx to all that tried to help me on this one.
