Hi to you all.
Just got a volcano inferno, and have question on dripping.
and let me apologize in advance if this question is redundant, but couldn't find anything directly on this one. probably my lack of experience s on the forum.

but here is my question. have been dripping 3 drops (as recomended in a doctor vapor video) into the atomizer. how long, or how many drags, should that last.
It seems the taste is changing as I vape it. but dont' know when/what taste means it is done.

yes, i am quite a novice. would appreciate any help.

thanks!

Here is a thread you might want to read...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/66848-guide-direct-dripping.html

A cleaned or completely blown out atomizer needs more drops, and so I usually use about 4-5 drops then.
But after that, it is usually around 2-3 drops to be added when the flavor starts to drop off.

Do keep in mind that this varies a bit by drop size.

Drop size can vary based on the following...
--How much juice you atomizer holds
--Viscosity of juice in question
--How hard you squeeze
--Size of dropper

Here is a poll that has a lot of good additional information...

I've had the Inferno for over a month now and I never use the atomizer it came with. I've cleaned it twice, very thoroughly, but it still tasted horrible whenever I've dripped with it (I don't have any cartridges). If I didn't do a lot of research and buy cartomizers, I'd be screwed.

Just my opinion, but dripping seems like kind of a hassle in general. Cartomizers are the way to go. When I fill a cartomizer it lasts me all day, no need to take out a bottle of juice every 10 puffs.

Cartomizers (the concept is great) but there are wicking issues with them...as with similiar 'izers'.

Dripping is the best way to get the taste and TH of your juice.

There are many variances that come into play...ie juice, vape method, chain vaping...

But if you try the cartos and they are good for you, then awesome.

If cartos leave you wanting more, and dripping is not convenient for you...look into bottom/top feeding mods.

2-3 drops will get you about 4-5 good draws. Add a couple of drops when the flavor/vapor drops off (or tastes like burning metal). Also, Volcano introduced their Inferno Tank system last night - if you don't like dripping or cartos, you may want to check it out.

If I remember correctly, the Volcano forum said that the tank attys run around 2.8Ω so it should be similar to dripping on their standard 510 atty. The reviews I've read on them so far have been positive, and I would assume that they perform just as well as the eGo-T. I've just recently started dripping again and can usually get around 5 good hits before I need to add 2-3 drops. I just hope that they come out with a LR tank atty because it's so much better than dripping on the standard 510 attys.

Have you tried Cisco's LR306 atty with drip tip, that hits like 5+ volts all the time.

I prefer dripping when at home or stationary; when I'm on the go, I prefer to use a cartridge filled with nylon tea bag mesh, which you can easily mod yourself using Lipton pyramid tea bags. I detest the taste of poly fill, and I find this mod gives you the best taste for nearly nothing after initial cost: the mesh is washable under the tap, and easily dried with a paper towel. I've reused the filler I've created about a dozen times, and it's great.

There are a couple of drawbacks, but I find them to be the same as using cartos and poly-fill carts: they certainly last longer than 2 drips, but they both seem to lose some drips in the translation (I think it's because I'm a heavier vaper than most); also, the tea bag occasionally slips into the atomizer (but one of the videos below show a different method which might alleviate this).

But it's certainly better than wrecking your car. :)

Here are some vids:

and I'm trying this mod as I type (to see if the duration changes as touted...we will soon see!):

Hope these help...Vape On!

Since I've started dripping again I've been using the Cisco 306 and occasionally a LR901 on my kr8 batts. I used to hate dripping but LR attys have changed my opinion on that, and I now prefer dripping over carts/cartos. But when I'm out of the house I just can't drip. That's why I'm hoping that Volcano will come out with a LR tank atty some time in the near future. It'll be like dripping without the hassle of dripping!
