Hello Alien Visions
I have heard great thing about you here on ECF. I really want to try some of your juices. So I went to my computer to pull up your website & oh-no!!...my virus protector said "CAUTION" this website has a drive-by virus. Can you guys fix this? I really want to buy some of your juice, but I won't subject my computer to a virus when I've already been cautioned about it.
Please don't be angry with me for posting this. It is the only way I knew to contact you so you can fix your website. Thanks so much.

If you are talking about Norton Antivirus giving you a warning then I'll apologize in advance but I can't fix Norton and make it work correctly. I've seen an error from them warning about a page that doesn't exist on my site and even if it did it couldn't be navigated to via my web menu or any links. I'm scanned daily for malware and viruses, as well as my credit card processor, and our SSL's are verified regularly. If there is a more specific issue I can address I'd love to, security is my top priority when it comes to the webshop so I've taken the steps necessary to ensure transactions are as secure as they can be.

Note: The internet being what it is, there will always be a level of insecurity when making an online purchase. Heck, even walking outside now-a-days can leave you as the target for identity theft. The bottom line is that you take what measures you can to be as "uneasy" a target as you can be, but tempered with the knowledge that if a dedicated hacker really wanted to have your identity and credit card numbers they could. So know what to do if that happens, what the ramifications could be, and what steps to take to get your identity back.

I hope this helps Bullete. If it is a more specific warning or different than what I've said here please feel free to send me a help desk ticket and I'll look into it.

Please note that I am not concerned about the security of my credit card. I am concerned about the security & vulnerability of my computer. I obviously cannot submit a "help desk ticket" without visiting your website. Until Norton declares your website "ok", I will not go there. I do hope you can get this resolved soon so that your fine business reputation remains in the vaping community.
Respectfully,
Bullette

Thank you for your prompt reply. Yes it is Norton. If, as you imply, it is a Norton error, i would want my website to be free from such negativity as this "CAUTION" from a widely used virus protector. Any way to get Norton to correct their error short of a lawsuit for defamation? LOL

When you get the warning, is there a button or something you can click to report it as a false positive? If not, I'm sure there is some way to contact them to report it for investigation. I haven't used Norton in years (I got tired of all the false positives and the infections that it didn't block and switched to another AV), so don't know much about the more current versions

Bullette the Cowdog I run the latest version of Norton on my Work PC and order all the time from AVE and never get any type of worming at all.

Just a suggestion, Check to see if there is any Norton Updates that you may not have downloaded. Good luck

Just trying to help.

Ha ha. Sure wish I could use my work computer to do some shopping. But, alas, I work in the MIS Dept of a government entity & my boss would have my head on a platter.
Currently running (at home) MS Windows 7 Pro with Norton 360 & everything up to date.
I will check Alien Visions website again this weekend.
Cheers
Sent from my iPhone for expedience.

It'll probably still be broken. This is a Norton issue.
Well actually this is a website issue that impacts the business owning the website. It doesn't matter which is at fault...the website designer or the virus protection software company. It is the result that matters. If the written press reported that my business establishment had a dangerous floor & shoppers should use caution if they decide to enter & shop there, I would be furious & demand a retraction if the report were untrue. If the report were true, I would immediately repair the floor.

Most business owners would want that resolved, & resolved yesterday.

Bullette,

I know that the corporate version of Norton's (Symantec's) products Symantec Antivirus that is typically much more accurate and reliable than Norton 360 (one reason I no longer use or recommend that particular piece of software) does not register any issues with the website. I switched to SAV long ago as it is far more reliable and effective while using fewer resources on your local machine. (I've been working in IT as a network administrator and instructor for most of the time since 1993 with a brief stint at a software gaming company).

It is not always a simple issue to get Symantec to be responsive to you unless you are a user of their products with a support agreement (my current employer is) from a business standpoint. It does not address your primary issue unless you switch versions of Symantec products, but it should help explain why it is not a simple matter for a small business to address without spending either major time or hiring someone to correct it. :(
