Hello ECF, long time lurker first time poster.
So today I sadly dropped my Itaste 3.0 VV/VW in the toilet while I was cleaning one of my iClear 16. Yes, hilarious and sad. I put the unit in a bowl of rice to dry for a couple hours and it seems to be working ALMOST as well as before it took it's bath, but it is acting a bit finicky. I will let it dry in the rice more before using it again, and if it works - great, if not, oh well.
The experience has left me wondering what I would do if something happened to my main mod and I was left with only my V2 starter kit to vape on (Ew!). I began to search for a backup or new primary mod to go along with my iTaste. I have a somewhat limited budget. I got the iTaste VV/VW, and 5 iClear 16's for $40 shipped and it has been worth every penny. I figure I can get a Vamo VV for around $40 including batteries and a charger from fasttech. Which batteries do I want? I take it I want a protected, Li-Ion battery. Are there different amperage ratings for batteries? Anything else I should know about batteries? Anything I should know about a charger? I haven't had to worry about batteries until now, since the iTaste 3.0 has a non-detachable battery, and usb-passthrough.
I am also looking at mechanical mods. They are inexpensive and I admire the simplicity and reliability of them. I've seen youtube videos of people blowing huge clouds out of their mechanical mods (Although I've never seen them use a clearomizer with one) I know my iClear's have a resistance of ~2.0 ohms. If I get a mechanical mod, with a 3.7v battery (Seems to be the standard of Li-ion batteries), will that be the voltage I am vaping at? I find the 'sweet spot' on my VV to be around 4.3v or 8.5 watts. Will I need to use a kick to properly vape my iClear's with a mechanical mod? At this point I don't have much interest in using a RBA, so I'm trying to find something that will work with my current stock of clearomizers.
Get a Vamo, get a mechanical mod, or do something else? Thanks for the help.
