Dry burn

Ok, I'm not sure I I'm doing this right, but by the name "dry burn" I assume that it's firing up the coil dry to get the gunk off of it after cleaning and drying thoroughly. I I am wrong on that can someone please let me know.

Dry burn just means firing the coil with no juice on it. Yes usually done after rinsing off or soaking. Used to clean the coil of gunk and burn off any stuff left on it to make it nice and shiny new. You got it right!

Ahh yes! Forgot that part! Thanks! Factory silica wick is fine if you've put cotton in it its a no-no!

Thanks guys, it's all factory silica wick. Am getting ready to start DIY juice and rebuilding coils, and looking at a provari, and getting a RDA. My hobby is beginning to expand

The he only thing I would change would be to use distilled water or distilled vodka to clean your tanks, coils & wicks with.

With much of the more modern gear we dry burn to check for hot spots, and to make sure that the coil heats up properly (from the center of the coil out). We do that dry burn before we ever add wicking material or liquid to a new coil.

If you're dry burning to clean the gunk off an old coil, remember to rinse afterwards to dislodge/wash away the gunk that MAY still be trapped between the coils.

If dry burning to prep a new coil, then you can skip the rinse part.
