Dry burning kills protank heads?

I recently got a new Vision Spinner, and even on 3.8v its killing my protank heads when dry burning them. Never had this issue on my old ego twist, even up to 4.8v wouldn't kill it. Any idea why this is happening? What I do is wash the head, dab it dry, then 3 second bursts while blowing gently on the coil, it gets to the point where the coil is almost clear, then it just dies.

I normally dry burn my clearo coils as low a voltage as I can find.

I had forgotten to lower the voltage on mine when drying. Used 4.1 volts and it didn't kill the coil. Wonder if you had a bad one?

I've killed 3 in this past 2 weeks, same time I got this new battery.
