Dry hit/burned coil taste, yet wick is still pretty saturated?

So a couple days ago I got a nice Plume Veil clone and it's been awesome. However I noticed something that's a bit odd to me. Sometimes I'll be getting a dry hit/burned coil taste even though my wick still looks plenty saturated, unlike my old Tugboat where when I got a dry hit the coil was pretty dry. I just drip a little on to the coil and let it saturate a bit and it's just fine again, but it's still kind of annoying. Anyone know what's causing this?

I'm running a dual coil .5 ohm build on a Nemi if that helps any. Don't know the gauge of the wire since the guy who I bought it from was kind enough to throw some coils on there before shipping it out.

Thanks in advance!

Glad you got it figured out, I bet it's vaping a lot better too!! :D How's that flavor now?

I had this problem (like many do) when I first started rebuilding.. It's real easy to to pull too much wick through that coil - it should pull through easily without getting snagged or bunched up at all. I like to feel just the tiniest bit of resistance when pulling it through, with cotton.

(Also, don't roll the wick too tight). A lot of people hardly roll it at all, I do just a tiny bit of pressure if it needs to be formed

Thick wick is a common problem with noobies. Same with not enough wick. You need enough to make sure its all snug and in contact. But not so much that the cotton gets dense and cant wick...

I have found that the japanese 100% organic untreated sheets are the best of the best of the best. I switched a few months ago and never had another wicking issue again. It was much easier to get the right size and density. Not to mention the flavor is amazing and you don't have to worry about stupid cotton balls. Just cut the strip, stuff it in, cut the ends and go.
