I disagree, the 510 cartos are harsher, and the throat hit lasts longer, as in you can still feel it several seconds after your hit.

Well I am not sure what folks are discussing any more with the amount of mis-information found in this thread.

There are many things that can be subjective in vaping, but TH is not one of them. You either feel a mild or powerful thump in the back of your throat or you don't, right where your neck encounters bones in the front of your chest. It does not have LASTING effects.

If you are getting harshness <--- read harshness your atty and carto are simply to dry. Hey but what the hell do I know right.

<<forgot to mention i get a weird after taste, kinda smokey, didn't think vaping would have that>>

Did we all forget the initial post from the OP, or did we simply want to hear the sound of our own voice. 10 post before "hot one" responded to his original question. Yes you need to drink plenty of fluids while vaping...

Wrt the 2nd part of his question. a harsh smokey aftertaste usually is associated with a too dry atty or carto more often than not. Not the freaking brand.

I mean no disrespect in saying this switched, but I think TH is subjective. If not, then I have never experienced TH before because I have never felt anything that low in my throat when vaping (dripping, carts, cartos, DIY and premixed juice, 0mg to 24 mg). Just curious if I am the only one out there? To me I compare it to analogs, no TH=an extralight cig, basically if you closed your eyes and inhaled, you couldn't tell the difference between the smoke and the air. A good TH, to me anyways, is like a full strength analog, you can feel it at the back of your throat (upper tonsil area?) and too much TH (harshness?) is like smoking a strong cigar or a loosely handrolled analog, it hurts and makes you want to cough. I think my experience with TH has a lot to do with the style of inhaling. Personally, I draw slowly and fill my whole mouth, then into my lungs. Perhaps people who inhale directly to their lungs will feel it differently? WRT the smokey (not burnt though) aftertaste, my favorite tobacco flavor gives me this, which is part of the reason why I love it so much. But I do agree that in general, that smokey/burnt taste is due to atty/carto being too dry. This is just MHO and my apologies to the OP for getting sidetracked on the original issue.

If you flood the atty while dripping it could effect your throat hit as well. Your vapor production will drop off and be less satisfying. I was constantly flooding my atty when I first started vaping. If you take the cartridge off and press the button it should only take a second or two before the bottom is covered by a think vapor. If it is not you have most likely flooded it. Blow out the juice from your atty and test again.

Also, are we are talking apples to apples? i.e. I can get a better throat hit in a carto with menthol then I do dripping with a sweet tasty vapor juice like waffle.

I had a bad habit as a cigar smoker which meant as a cigarettes smoker I inhaled everything. Cigar smokers do not inhale. I smoked a variety of premium cigars to include but not limited to Cubans.

The best analogy I have seen wrt TH was from Scott (igetcha69) that described what I described. If you tap yourself lightly there that is the thump you should feel with TH. When I smoked that is where it occurred as well, not in the tonsil area perse. Reckless TH was definitely Cubans just like some one had punch me in that area. Of course folks will fell TH in diferent ways but IMHO, harsh, scratchy are not qualifiers of good TH but rather a buy product. Now TH is reserved for those who mouth inhale vice direct lung inhale which will happen much deeper in the chest. Although a little more pronounced than a mouth inhale, I wouldn't qualify them as "harsh".

well i think i discovered what the weird after taste was, i believe it was the atomizers i have, i dried one out after running it under hot water, dried it by slowly burning the water away, i kept burning it until it was glowing red, took a tiny vape of it, and yeah it tastes like the burning/smokey after taste i would get with dripping, anyone have sugestions on some good atomizers for dripping

trying the boge cartomizer compared to direct dripping with this atomizer made if feel like i was really vaping and not smoking, the taste comes out smooth and clear, thanks A BUNCH FOR TH ESUGGSETION ON THESE CARTOMIZERS!, Only one issue, when I exhale barely any vapor exits my mouth with these cartomizers, but i know i am getting vapor because when i don't inhale and just fill up my mouth a cloud of smoke will come out of my mouth, I am still satisfied with the hit, but I guess this may jsut be an issue with my current liquid, anyways these new cartomizers are amazing,

PS: I personally don't mind if posts get sidetracked, the more information the better, I'm going to do a search for some good atomizers for dripping,

Hey gnelkos, I am a dripper myself and I have found the two best atties for dripping (for me) are 306's and 510's.

I would suggest checking out either Cisco LR 306's from Jack at Happy Vaper or LR 510 atties from many of the other fine vendors here in Canada.

When it comes to 306's, there are 3 well known varieties and with some of them the vaping experience is vastly different. The 2 I have tried so far are Joye and Cisco. The Cisco is the better of the 2 imho because I am not getting near the same throat hit or vapor. The last 306 style I am aware of is Ikenvape, I know Switched loves them so I can imagine they are of equal or greater quality compared to the Ciscos, but I can't truly say for certain since I don't yet own any Ikens.

Also, I would suggest running LR's on a 900 mAh Mega eGo battery at least

I've been drinking about 2 litres a day of water since switching over (which is 2 L more than I'd ever drink - hated plain water), and its helping a LOT with the dry mouth I was getting. This on top of my (reduced to - oh my !), 10-15 cups of coffee a day.

I just keep sipping my water as I'm... well, at the moment, POWER VAPING !! rather than actually drinking it. It's working for me !

I'm new to vaping and have not experienced 'dry mouth' though it does appear to be common. I have noticed however that my mouth produces a lot less saliva than when I smoked ( last analog was 2 months ago ). I put this down ( though I don't know for sure ) that the irritants in tobacco smoke made my mouth produce so much. For about a week after I quit analogs my throat was dry but it got better as the last of the blackish crap got coughed up.

personally i find when i smoke and vape i am fine but when i quit smoking and just vape i get dry mouth
im on day 3 now no smoking and the dry mouth is back but for the last few months when i was smoking too i had no dry mouth

Eliquids will dehydrate you (pg faster than vg). Add alot of coffee to the mix - you could be dehydrating yourself faster than you can rehydrate with water alone.

As a field teacher - I saw this problem tons with kids in the desert (dehydrating - NOT using ecigs, of course).

Add something sweet to your water - a bit of apple juice or non-citrus juice - a couple granules of salt - you'll stay rehydrated longer and the water sticks better.

I've been vaping almost a year... the dry mouth, for me, pretty much went away (or maybe I got used to it??). I found it was better with VG/PG or VG than with straight PG eliquid. It doesn't dehydrate you though... just tends to dry out the surfaces it touches (ie, inside of your mouth)

Kanadiankat, gotta call this one... coffee does not dehydrate you. It's a myth :) As is the whole 8 glasses of water a day thing (based on a misinterpretation of scientific data... long story).
