I've been reading the forums for the past few weeks while deciding what I wanted for my first purchace and went with the DSE-901 for simplicity, a sample pack from JC and a few extra batteries and atomisers.

However, I just can't seem to get enough vapor at all. I've seen some of the video guides and it really makes me feel like either I am doing something wrong or my equipment is bad.

If I fill a blank cart (using a hypo so that I know it's full) I get maybe 1 or 2 "ok" hits before it's barely visible. Pop the cart off and top it off and get the same. It doesn't mater if I drip, the results are about the same. This usually leads to frustration and over filling my cart and getting a mouthfull of juice.

Any suggestions or sources of information?

try blowing out your atty
sometimes they flood and they will not vape well

That was going to be my suggestion as well. :) It's easy to flood an atomizer and not immediately realize it.

I'm assuming that your vaping technique is probably fine . . . you know, a short primer puff, then a second long, slow, almost leisurely draw.

If neither of those is the culprit (and if you've got a fresh battery), then you probably have a not so great atomizer. It happens.

Thanks for the fast replies. I forgot to add, I have been blowing it out regularly and let it set upright with a tissue inside of it overnight.

Interestingly, since my previous post the wool in the cartrige has been sticking to the atomizer. I'm thinking that could be a issue with the juce?

Going to fill another blank cart and try atomizer #2 then.

I didn't really focus on how you were talking about "vapor" as opposed to the feeling of a "hit."

Are you getting the feeling of a "hit" but no vapor OR is it no hit and no vapor?

If the former (hit but no vapor), then I would suspect the liquid. If the latter (no hit and no vapor), then it could be the liquid, but there's also a good chance it's the atomizer. :)

Weak on both I suppose. New atomizer doesn't seem to help much. Playing with the wool in the cart now to see if I can improve the wicking, seems it only draws the first few mm's of juice.

This could also signal an oversaturation of the atomizer correct? If thats the case, I really don't know what else to do.

At least I've eaten enough juice this afternoon to get my fix. 8-o

Your experience with the 901 is about the same as mine was. One or two good hits and then it just went down hill even after doing all those things suggested. Many of us in that boat switched to a manual switch PV where you push a button and heat up the atomizer as long as you want. Better throat hit, more consistent and you are in control because there is not battery cut off. If it doesn't get better, you might want to consider that option.

Good Luck

Without sitting in the same room as you and watching what you are doing I am going to guess that you are drawing too hard and vaporizing all the juice on top with your first drag or two, but not giving the atomizer a chance to wick up what is needed for the next few drags.

Or perhaps you are taking drags every few seconds instead of waiting at least 20 seconds between drags to allow for the wicking action to bring you up another decent puff for the next go round.

Or maybe, as others have said, you battery is not working, or your atomizer is flooded, or your atomizer is bad and you need to put on a different one to get results.

Welcome to our world.
When you get it working, which you will, you'll be happy you did.

SDG, I am sorry you are having problems! I have the 901 and can honestly say I am getting plenty of vapor for quite a while. Never had problems except when an atty or batt die. Then it's just sad wisps of vapor. Thank Heaven that doesn't happen often!
I would try two things, first make sure your battery is charged..those little devils should come with a level reading thingy. Two, take out your stuffing and restuff, make sure it is full of juice and use a toothpick or something to pull the stuffing to one side for a second. That gets the juice all the way down. I use the dripper bottle to push the stuffing just back from the edge. Put it together and give it a go. Puff it like drawing a pipe for a couple of puffs. Draw and fill your mouth with vapor and draw again.

Sounds like a flooded atty to me.

This can be one of the most frustrating scenarios out there.

Stuff a piece of paper towel up on the bridge and let it sit there for a few minutes. Observe what you have there. If it is soaked with juice, repeat.

Then try hooking up the atty to a fresh battery and poke on it with a an empty (No wool) cart. If you get vapor, it prolly was flooded, if not RIP.

More than a few (3) drops on a 901 atty can flood it, especially if you install a new soaked cart on it. The battery connection can be wet too. Wipe both parts dry before using :D
