I've bought lots of both, 510s and 901, and the 901 is winning. It is soooo much more reliable than the 510s. and I can get 5 901s for $75, in pink, no less, which should help with people not yelling at me. (it doesn't). I was totally stoked on the 510s for the first couple of months, but after that, they started poopin' out at an incredible rate. ( I do clean and treat my stuff good). For a great reliable puff, my money is on 901s (which is not to say my future money will not try everything else they throw at us):D:D

Are 510s REALLY better than the DSE 901 for throat hit, vapor production, etc? If so, is one "brand" of 510 better than another?

If just starting out vaping, I'd say go with the 901. The flavor is MUCH better than on a 510 and when just stopping analogs you need all the extra taste you can get (till those taste-buds wake up)

Both are good in manual. The 510 atty runs a bit hotter which will produce more vapor and enhance most flavors like all tobacco flavors, coffee, cappuccino, where fruit flavors, vanilla, lighter flavors taste better to me on the 901 or the 801. In fact, if it were someone to say they were most likely to be vaping lighter flavors, I'd recommend the 801 because of the larger cartridge but the 901 would be good also.

If you have future plans for a mod, the 510 atty will hold up well to the higher voltage and the vapor production is tops.

Although some vendors have 'adjusted' kits, many times the 901 kit has only one atomizers whereas the 510 kits almost always have 2 attys. Something to keep in mind when you're 'comparison shopping'.

Help please. Does the mega battery come with the 510 kit?

Totally Wicked has a super mega kit but it'll cost you:

MEGA-510 TITAN E-NI Kit (Electronic Nicotine Inhalator) Black

This includes 3 mega batts, 3 attys and their 5 batt charger, 10 carts and a 10ml bottle of ejuice. One heck of a starter kit for $130, but using the promo code will help:

But you might be better off getting the cignot kit and ordering the megas here:

I have the 510 and LOVE IT, you get the throat hit but the flavor of MY juice disappears. I then bought a Chameleon that has 3 adapters for vapeing/vaping using the 801/901/510 atomizers. I have found that flavor comes through more with the 801/901 atomizers and more throat hit with the 510. You really have to think about what it is you are looking to get from an e-cig. I thought throat hit was the main thing that would make it LIKE an analog. After 3 weeks on the 510 (which by the way, I quit analogs on) that I really wanted more flavor. Well, I am finding great satisfaction with more flavor that I am now purchasing items to mix my own juice. I think the most important factor(was for me, after all said and done) was nicotine addiction. Finding the right level of nicotine for your addiction.
So.... Pick up A starter kit and choose a few samplers with varied degrees of nicotine. I believe any 801/901/510 with a proper nicotine level will get you started in the right direction. From that point you will find out what you are looking for whether it be strong hit, nicotine satisfaction or a little of everything and or flavor.
Even as I type this I am awaiting a new package for a new model(KR808D-1) in order to have a new experience. Just order one and take the leap. Continue to read and take in all the information and make notes to as what you feel you aren't getting and what you are, from the e-cig you purchase. It is a road fun traveled. Enjoy the ride and vape away!

Where do you buy 5 901s for $75? Good price.

Well I have been using 901's for a while now. Have them on my screwdriver too. Yesterday I put a 901-510 adapter from Heaven-Gifts on the SD and it is great, holds more juice it seems than the 901. But they are pretty close in throat hit, the 510 has more visible vapour. Also got a Joye Stick that has an 801 atomizer on it. That is one big cart. Good vape and throat hit, but the vape is much cooler than the 510 or 901. Also got a 901 and 510 adapter for it. The 901 adapter did not work at all on the stick, but I hear that is common. Used two types of 901 atty's one with stamped lettering on the battery end and one without. Neither worked on it. But the 510 adapter works great. So with the stick I can use the cooler 801 atty or the warmer 510 atty. All of these, save the 901 adapter are great. :)
