I picked one of these up as an upgrade to the NPRO, which gave off a good vapor, but one of those carts was the equivalent of 3 cigarettes. The DSE901 is a finicky one... got two atomizers in my kit, one of which would only burn but not give any vapor without the burning plastic taste, and the second one when being inhaled a little too frequently, would also burn. It's ok after a cooloff period of 2-3 minutes though. I am certain the first burning atomizer is definitely a defect, as I tried to smoke through it but it would not get any better. The second one, I am not so sure. Is this just a normal characteristic of the DSE901 in general, or do I have a defective kit? The NPRO would heat up, but never gave off this plasticky taste that I experienced with the DSE901.

This sounds like the primer fluid they coat the atomisers with? I always blow new atomisers from the battery end onto a suitable piece of kitchen roll etc to try and get rid of the stuff (just take atomiser off and blow through like blowing through straw) and this removes most of the liquid, other than that after using for a while the horrible taste should burn off after a few uses so just persevere for a while and if it doesn`t get any better after a few cartridges then maybe you got a defective kit? You Can always just puff your way through a cart without inhaling to try and get rid of taste? If you got any of the flavoured liquid this would help as you could drop a few drops onto atomiser but if you already got through several cartridges would suggest maybe faulty?

The one I thought was defective I didn't give it that much of a chance, I assumed it was bad because it vaped like burned plastic, nothing like the first one which vaped just fine. The "bad" one didn't vaporize the actual liquid I think... No matter, I sent it back for a new one, which should be here sometime next week. I've gone through 5 carts on the good atomizer and although it gives me the burning taste occasionally, is good to go.
