I guess this is a really pathetically noob question but:

1. I'm confused by the parts. I see there are mouth pieces on the carts, and then mouth pieces on the atomizers. My instruction book is pathetically inadequate. Of course it gives no instructions for DIY with your own e-juice. Do I take the foam cart out of the piece & place it in the atomizer? lol...someone is probably laughing at this...
(I tried watching one of the videos, and I have problems with the video skipping, but can hear the audio in it's entirety.)

2. I see these are black carts. Why when I have read about cleaning carts to extend use, do I hear it stated to wash until it's no longer brown. These carts are black, so how do I tell when I need to toss?

3. I see there's 2 different types of DSE901 (or more?) - I have a black one, but I see there are types that look like a real cigarette. Are the parts (atomizer, battery, etc) interchangeable? The atomizers on the 2 look different. But the booklet that came with my BLACK DSE901 has a picture of the look alike cigarette (brown top, white body).

I don't even have my e-juice, so just trying to figure it all out before it comes. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but the parts on this thing have me baffled! The brown/white e-cig manual makes it look like it's a 2 part e-cig.

Thanks!

yes i am laughing, and am now ashamed that i also hail from long island. I'm kidding.... do not take the foam out to fill, just put a few drops in the foam. if it pools at the top, you put a bit much in, use a tissue to soak off excess. i would suggest you buy parts from where you got the kit to insure the carts and atomizers fit properly, unless you are sure about whether you have or are getting 901 or 4075 parts. there is also an em-901, and supposedly a newer dse 901. if you do want to clean, they are referring to the foam turning brown, not the cart itself, you can remove the foam and rinse and replace. i dont usually find this necessary myself. if you run it hot enough to burn the liquid, you might melt the foam too, so be careful there. the 3 parts are the cart with the foam, the atomizer, and the battery.

Hi Jimgman,

What part of LI were you from? I see alot of LI'ers here.

Ok, so now that I'm looking at my parts & your instructions, I realize it's not such a stupid question after all, because:

The foam is actually black, lol (in addition to the cart)

The cart AND the atomizer both have mouthpieces (same type as the cart), so they do not fit end to end. When I take the mouthpiece off the cart, there's the foam. When I take the mouthpiece off the atomizer, there is no foam.

So I played around with it (because I didn't want to really open up the cart with foam way before I have my ejuice) and apparently there is an extra mouthpiece here (for lack of the correct e-cig term).

So if I have it right, the foam touches the atomizer (duh - I'm really, really a rather intelligent person). LOL

There are only 3 parts. Battery, atomizer, cartridge. Mouthpiece and cartridge are actually the same thing. The word mouthpiece is not really used. People mostly refer to it as cartridge. The cartridge is in two pieces. The brown piece holds the liquid and the foam and is pressed into the orange piece (in my pictures, yours may be black). These two pieces do not need to be taken apart.
