Do you mix @ 30/pg/70vg----40pg/60vg----50/pg/50vg? I vape dtl, but I mix for a few family members and friends, they are all mtl 50/50 vaporers. Trying to save on some mixing, would 40pg/60vg be a happy medium? I'm getting old trying to make it a bit easier on myself.

Honestly the ratio depends more on what atty you are using. Some are fine with lower/higher vg & some more fiddly.
I vape dtl at 30pg/70vg/1mg nic(free base). Would there be any advantage to using the same ratios with nic salts(smoother throat hit)?
Can't imagine any advantage. 1mg is 1mg for both. Even I wouldn't notice th from 1mg freebase. If you want to avoid th dump the pg and use 5-10% dw instead.
I vape both ways-- mtl and dtl. The main difference in my mixes is the nicotine level. in my dtl mixes I try to not go lower that 70% VG. My mtl device can't handle anything higher in VG than a 65/35 blend, the tank simply won't feed properly with a higher VG ratio and will give me that occasional god awful dry hit.
If it wasn't for my tank I would probably do all my mixes in a 70/30 blend, that 30% pg level is a great flavor carrier. I also feel the steep times are less, but that could just be a mentality thing for me. Every time I have mixed something in high VG I always wonder-- "should I up the flavor in those mixes?".
I think the happy medium is 70/30 or even a 65/35 blend....

I prefer 70 VG (for restricted DL) but mix about 60 VG for my MTL (drop-in coils) I really don't like that much PG but the coils do.
