Dual atty help

FNG here...

I've made a few box mods, 14500 and 18650 (510). My next adventure is dual atty's. My question is if I am running 2 14500 (aprox 7.2v) can I run two attys in series; thus in theory dropping the voltage to around 5v and prevent killing both attys if one burns out (open circuit)? Any ideas are great...thanks

sounds viable, but 7.2V divided by 2 = 3.6V...

Sorry, must of been brain dead. Let's rewind a bit. I have a 5v pass through mod. Works great, but I want a dual atty at 5volts, so what kind of voltage would I need for dual attys (normal 510) running in series? 12volts?
