Dual-coil: dual heads? dual mini coils? What's the difference?

OK I'm not sure of the terminology here, but I've seen two kinds of dual coil clearomizers...

One kind is wide-body, and appears to have two separate "heads" (?), one on each side of the tank. It looks like they screw in separately... or maybe that kind is just a rebuildable where there are no heads and you always just make your coils between the screws? How does the wick work with that kind?

The other has just one, and I guess the coils are together on one smaller piece.

Is one better than the other? What are the pros/cons?

I'm looking for rebuildable, but would also prefer compatibility with Evod. Maybe that's an oxymoron :)

All I know right now is Evod, I've been saving fouled coils for rebuild but haven't ventured into it yet.

Thanks, I'm a bit confused.

Im by no means very knowledgeable, but i have a dual coil protank 3, and the coils are stacked inside the atty, one on the other. In my opinion, its not worth too shakes. I burnt out both coils that came with it in a matter of days. I have stayed with my protank 2's, bought a bunch of single coil atty's, and have no problems, using the same single coil atty for over a week and a half, no burnt taste. good luck!

Edit: Just re-read your post.... the other larger base type is rba/rda style, where you build your own coils, apply your own wicking, and then fill a tank to have continuous liquid delivery to your coils. standard rda's are just the base plate, couple of posts for coil ends, and simple caps/mouthpieces. (more expensive ones have airflow control and higher build quality, ect.)

OK thanks for the reply.

So if I think I want a rebuildable and feel capable of coiling... what's a good economical starter tank with the four screws?

I don't think I want the long strands of wick... but again, I'm still a newb.

I swear my first post here I felt I knew something... every post since I've learned more about how little I really know. That's why I'm sticking to the newb forum, but if there's a special forum for this maybe I'll take this over... :)

Thanks again. Phew
ETA: I think I saw the rebuildables and just figured there were two screw-in type "heads" on both sides of the "post", but now I guess that type with "side-by-side" coils are STRICTLY rebuildable... so you MUST build a coil, then attach it to the screws. The other type of "buyable" dual coil heads have them on the smaller head and closer together. Is this correct?

Also, assuming the above is correct, after you build the coil and screw it in, THEN you thread the wick through?
