Hello, vaping Veterans!

Dual coil, specifically the nautilus.

If one coil pops, will the other one, "get you home?"

I have a ProVari and just filled my new nautilus for the 6th time and it's still rockin'!

Ordered both the 1.6 & 1.8 replacement heads.

My girlfriend has a ProVari Mini and uses a Aerotank and just ordered the airflow valve for her Protank 2. Also ordered replacement heads for both of them (Protank 2 & 3 heads.)

All that has nothing to do with my original question but I know you like to know and besides, any additional guidance would be much appreciated.

Also, while I am here, since the Nautilus has silicone seals, is it ok to soak the base and top cap in Everclear? How about the caps for the Pro and Aerotanks?

I know it is ok for the heads...

I'd rather not use water or IPA as Everclear works better and dries faster than water and is more safe than IPA.

Thank you for your time.

I don't use Nautilus clearos, but dual coils are always wired in parallel. You should not pop a coil in normal use, ever. A 1.5 ohm dual coil is actually two 3 ohm coils. I've had a couple go on me while dry burning and the device has always continued to operate as it should, just with less performance as you would expect. I would imagine this one is not different. Now, if the popped wire shorts out the other coil, all bets are off ;)

If you're using the Provari, I would leave the voltage as it was set with two coils. You could try a bit higher, but if the first one popped, well might be better to leave it alone. With a VW device, you'll likely need to turn down the power to avoid burnt hits and popping that coil too.

You can use up to 2.5 ohm coils and not lose any power at the high end with the Provari. At 1.6 ohms, power at 3V is 5.6 watts. That's low enough for most people and most devices, but if you ever feel you would like to go lower you will need to buy higher ohm heads.

Yes you can use Everclear on silicone.
