I made a hybrid earlier with horizontal SS mesh and cotton ball wick thru that, after seeing Commie turn it into a Genesis! I am thinking un-oxidized mesh may be best.

Unoxidized is much easier. Just remember -- do not pulse-burn it on your Reo! The spring will not like you for that. Burn it on another mod, and when it all glows even, put it on your Reo and enjoy

No no! i measure it with a meter! then put the top on and measure it again and put it on either something else like the little box measurer, and then the wife's something else!(expendable). I have sent my Reo, well one of them anyway back for repair too many times thru my own ignorance and foolishness!

I have been a follower of you and Super-x's microcoils for some time, not least since your photo tutorial once showed me how to make decent ones. I would if i could fit a shortstop in my Reo grand - but i look at the spring and think it's compressed too much, which is how i burned it the first time - and i have a nasty feeling the sticky on here was caused by me!

ink's dual coils fascinate me.

I'm really glad dual coils work for someone I tried a number of times and couldn't make it work well enough to justify the trouble. In my travels, the same effect could be reached by twisting the same wire and making a single coil out of that. I think it was probably because I couldn't get proper air flow over the two coils.

i can make it work only if i use the fill hole as a wick holder on a tank fed device. But i am surprised nobody has made anything yet for all the RBA folks.After all, all the carto users have had dual coils for ages. Why is the air hole not dead centre?

Was just peering down an A7 - that's off to one side too.

Wishing i had taken machining instead of computers as a career or known a few Chinese guys then!

I tried to make a dual coil with the .8mm Kanthal ribbon last night... I found it impossible to get two pieces through all four post holes, and gave up.
