Just a heads up here. May be only me .....but I use mostly Joye eGo-c upgrade batts. They have better short and charge protection better than most.

There have been some problems with earlier eGos noted here in the past. smoktek's mega Dual coils seemed to work fine for most, but others reported problems with them. I recently got some of the new Kanger T3D clearos and I've noticed on 2 instances, I got the 'three flashes' - that's a 'short indicator', on two batts, and another that went from 'white' to 'blue' instantly off the charger with the first draw on a T3D - and these are on the 1.5 ohm dual coil units. They also have the 2.0ohm coils which I have, and supposedly the 1.8 ohm is coming out but haven't seen any as yet.

I'm guessing that the dual coil is blowing the short charge protection on the eGos and as is the case, the eGo-c can take one hit on the short protection and continue to work, but the next one will usually kill the battery. So far, the batts that showed a short, are still working with the Dual Coils, so it wasn't disastrous, but personally I'm going to not use the 1.5 ohm dual coils.

If anyone else has had similar experience with this post it here....

Two more incidents with batts even with the 2.0 ohm dual coils. This could just be the Joye eGo-c types not knockoffs because of the extra protection of the Joyes.

I'm reverting to the Kanger T3S single coils. One other thing I didn't like about the T3D dual coil was the set up for the coil was similar to the Aspires' (Phil mentions this in his video), where you lose about .6ml ejuice in the 'gap' because of the different center post position as far as filling eliquid goes. It's a 3ml tank and only holds 2.4ml. Not so on the T3/T3S.

I have a cheap-o smaller ego style that this happens on with my Mini PT3 and Iclear 16's. It blinks and though it doesn't go dead immediately, it does seem to lose it's charge too quick. Never new why.

I had similar. I had one go from white to light blue right off the charger - indicating loss of charge and also had one 'go blue' way to fast - although not immediately.

Agreed. I lost an ego that way myself when the Smoketech DC's first came out. It was a Riva ego w/o protection (?), and went instantly hot.

S'why I always recommend Joye Upgrade :).

Me too actually but this will do in the short protection even on a Joye upgrade. I reported this to heaven gifts and Wayne there has a habit of telling the Kanger and Joye engineers about reported flaws.... :thumb: so I expect to hear something on it. They may just put 'notes' in their blurbs (as I suggested) because people are using the dual coils on other PV's than eGos so it won't be a complete bust for them.

I also ask him if he got similar feedback from others... I'm guessing 'yes' after 5 incidents from me personally.

any better device than an ego should have no problems. egos are ancient, and have ben left as is since all these new fangled PV's started arising on scene.

my mvp came with two iclear 16's and had no problem on the mvp, yet when used on an ego the vape was weak like a dead battery and the battery did not last as long as other with other clearos.

I have shorted out a couple eGo-C upgrades and they shut down. Put them on the charger and they start backup. Charge in battery is still their.

As I noted, some still worked after the short protection blew and this can be the case but the next short usually kills the battery - the short protection is gone but the charge protection still exists.

Is this only with the Kanger duals? I've been using Aspire BDC's on my Spinners for quite a while now, & have had no issues. Maybe I'm not understanding the problem?

Yes and no.... there have been other duals that are bad for eGos but I said I have an Aspire (pen style) that poses no problem, doesn't get the 3 flashes, etc. I have no idea why that is the case but the T3D is bad for eGos... in my experience. I've contacted a few vendors, as they would most likely get more feedback. heaven gifts is bringing the issue up to both Joyetech and Kanger. Joyetech will likely keep their short and protection the same - it isn't the Joye imo, but the Kanger. We'll see :)

Again, this can work, however, the short protection is blown and anytime any coil goes below @1.2 ohms, it will likely kill the batt. I think that this is probably the problem. Basically the 1.5 ohm dual coils have two 3.0 coils and if coils gunk up that 3.0 could drop to 2.8 each or even 2.5 - then divide that by 2 to get 'registered' ohms and you'll be in sub ohm range soon.
