The ohm reader is reading the resistance of the total RBA. It can't tell if you have 1, 2, or 4 coils on it.
It will give you the total resistance. When 2 coils are connected in parallel, the resistance is cut in half.
Use thinner wire: You get short shorts. 
As others have said, it gives you the total resistance of all of your coils.
If you have dual coils attached, you can find out the resistance of a single coil by multiplying your ohms by 2.
Same for tri coils, though I've never seen them.
And quad, naturally.
Similarly, you can build a coil and find out what the resistance of two or three or four of them would be through division. Ah, maths.
