I am going to attempt a dual series coil build in one of my tanks and was hoping for some advice on technique.

I'll be using 26ga wire, 16 wraps, split into two 8 wrap coils for use on one of my wattage mods.

I'm primarily concerned with best technique for wrapping then folding the coil in half.

Thanks for any advice!

after doing your 16 wraps get a blade/knife and while keeping the coil on your drill bit or whatever you wrapped on split into two with the blade, sort of twisting the blade to seperate the two halfs if that makes sense, working your way around the center like this untill you have a gap big enough that once you insert two seperate drill bits in each coil that you can get your finger nails over the two inside wraps while you bend so as the coil doesnt misshape.

you can make some nice diamond coils this way ;) good luck

Thank you! That's pretty much what I had pictured in my head. I'll be giving it a shot tonight.

I've been running dual coils in my new Lemo, but have found it difficult to trap anything thicker than 28ga. 26ga is what I really want in it, and I can compensate for the higher resistance of the series coils with increased wattage.
