Dry burn/glow them and see if they're fairly matched.
Next time try my lazy method... wrap two as if parallel. Then just "unscrew" them while still on the mandrel.
Instant matched pair. :D

(I don't do contact coils so this might not work for you. Depends on the wire and guage, and if they can be tweeked back into contact. More work than was saved. [emoji14] )

That is a good idea for making spaced coils. :thumbs:

What a fantastic idea!!! Going to try that now!! I only used spaced coils as well.
