How do you tell the difference between a single vertical carto and a duel carto without taking one apart.

You could test it with a meter. Should be around 1.5 ish for a dual coil, or 3 ish for a single. That's in ohms. Check between the threads and the center contact on the battery end.
I quick vape will let you know for sure.
My recommendation would be to mark them somehow when you get them in if you have confusion.
FYI not all single coil cartos are 3 ohm. I have 1.6 ohm single coil cartos

20/20 hind site on the labeling.

Alot t of the DC cartos out there are XL if that helps at all. They will be longer.

That's assuming that it's not a LR single coil. LR's can get down to 1.5 ohms in a single coil carto...
Yes, this is true. I'm still in doubt about the cartos I have. I guess I'll just have to wait til one dies and tear it apart to find out.
i just picked up some duel coils from MV and they are 1cm longer than my boge LR cartos. maybe its just length...
