Duel coils

So I have an Ego-T with 650 mah battery. I just bought a new iclear 16D tank with a duel coil. I'm not getting much vapor from it like my T3S tank. Is my battery too weak to fully power the duel coil? The T3S had a single coil and worked great.

Also this is my first post and I'd like to say that from all of the information I've gotten from lurking about I've dang near stopped smoking. Vapeing is pretty good!

When you have a dual coil, you increase the surface area for making vapor from the liquid but it splits your voltage. I *think* the ego-T is VV up to 4.8, so instead of 4.8V going to one coil you have 2.4V going to two coils. You won't get double the vapor, but you'll probably see an increase. However, if your battery only puts out 3.7V, you are now only giving each coil ~1.8V, and it'll be hard to get a satisfactory vape before you hit the cutoff.

What ohm is the coil rated at? It should be printed on the atty head or on the box of coils. It is entierly possible you got a higher resistance coil than you're used to. I take it there's no change in the juice your using? Hell, your ego could be wearing out if its fairly old.

I've had it about a week or so I don't belive it should be dying yet. It's got a full charge as well. I bought some vanilla bean flavor 100% vg along with the tank. The ohm rating is 2.1.

I tried to put the single coil in the iclear tank and it didn't quite fit. Very tight and started to gurgle immediately. I'm assuming single coils don't work well with it.

It may be that the ego isn't putting out enough power to heat the higher resistance coils. Along with the fact that it is a high vg juice, the coil may be getting gunked up quickly which would cause you to get very little vapor. The mah has mostly to do with how long the battery will last on a charge and not with the actual output.Depending on your budget I would suggest upgrading to at the very least a variable voltage device like the ego twist and maybe picking up a higher quality clearomizer.

Two problems jump right out at me. First and foremost, that 100% VG juice is going to be way, way too thick for a normal tank. It won't feed into the wick of the coil correctly, limiting the juice that can get to the coils to vaporize. Second, 2.1ohms is rather high to be running at 3.7 volts like a fresh ego cranks out. If I were you, I would find a really thin juice of a similar flavor so you can thin out that 100%VG and not have wasted money and pick up some lower resistance coils. Just my 2c

Hi, LavaLampHero. Welcome to ECF!

You're right, the single coil head you have is made by a different manufacturer and most likely doesn't fit the Iclear. Hope you haven't stripped the Iclear threads.

Have you tied an Iclear replacement head that's 1.5 ohms? They come in 1.5 ohms and 2.1 ohms.

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!
