I didn't "parallel" much...only long enough to finish off the last carton and to make dang sure all the hardware worked OK and I was used to vaping. So, I'm not 100% sure that the "cut off" will be the same for you as it was for me as you "tapered off" cigs. I'm not sure how much you were smoke free or not...so take this with a grain of salt but it may help others too.
But for me, once I quit cigs and started vaping, I still had to detox from the cigs and also had withdrawal from the non-nicotine stuff. Vaping sure made that easier, along with easing the "habit" part of it all. If I remember correctly, it took about 3 weeks or so for my cravings to really stop.
The advice above is great. Have several nic levels and flavors of juice ready. And 'just' decide to be smoke free. That pack you smoked while drinking doesn't count much since you're still smoking anyway. It's almost the same thing. So don't worry about it.
Like I said...it can take about 3 weeks (or it did for me anyway). That said, it's EASY with e-cigs. A lot easier than it was with just gum/lozenges and/or patches IMHO. You'll push through it in no time at all. Remember it's really best if you give smoking up entirely if you can. Even one cig a day will stop your lungs from healing. They say it takes 10 years smoke free to heal up as much as possible. Still, if you can't go smoke free...every cig reduced helps a minor amount.
I don't know why smokers are so afraid of nicotine in e-juice. If you need to use 6 mg or 12 mg...do it to get off the smokes. Get off the cigs for a while (again)...like for 6 months or more smoke free. THEN think about cutting down on the nic. Just my
Good luck to you.
